New England: “PROSPECT SPOTLIGHT” JANUARY – 2024
NEW ENGLAND HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL RECRUITING: Spotlight interviews are dedicated and designed to attract a college coach’s attention and provide additional recruiting exposure to New England High School Football recruits. The interviews provide an unknown background on a “specific recruit” during their high school varsity playing years. The interviews include questions to recruits about the recruitment process and their current status. It involves asking questions that allow College Coaches interested in the recruit to learn more about the recruit personally.
Coach Silva: The rising junior was not eligible to play this fall 2023 season due to a transfer ruling under the MIAA. He attended practices weekly to keep up his skill development and to help his teammates compete. He is a recruit with a great pedigree. He has an older brother who is a Junior College defensive tackle named Malcolm Alcorn-Crowder. Malcolm recently announced his commitment to Kansas State on 12/20/2023. The announcement came a few weeks after he earned the offer from the Wildcats. He held 18 offers during the process, including multiple heavy hitters.
Although Elijah missed the 2023 season, he did draw a good bit of college attention during the 2023 summer camps season and discussed this during the interview documented below. My early projection of his skill set is he will attract the attention of many Div 1 college programs moving forward.
Head Coach Ed Mantie: “He’s got some of the best footwork I’ve seen in a while for a lineman, but I believe his best attribute is just his ferocity to get after it in practice and take the competition to the next level every day. In a year where he couldn’t get on the field on Fridays, he put his team and teammates ahead of himself to help build a winning program. His length and football acumen are D1 quality and we are excited to see how dominant he will be for us in his senior year.”
