One of our most popular features from last year is BACK! We are returning the “Freshman Friday” series to help jumpstart your 2027 recruiting boards.
Here are my four featured players for the second week of Freshman Friday! Check them out ASAP!!
In an already young squad at Omaha South, freshman Sage Giddings Sage Giddings 5’10” | 190 lbs | RB Omaha South | 2027 NE emerged as an early leader for the Packers. Sage quickly worked his way into the RB1 role. He led the team with 453 rushing yards (2nd among freshmen) on 117 carries and scored five touchdowns (1st among freshmen). Sage is a tough back who runs with a low center of gravity and has a strong lower body, allowing him to take on defenders between the tackles. He has good vision and twitch to help him quickly find running lanes and change direction. We could see Sage playing more on both sides of the ball in year 2!
Highlights
Tory entered the 2023 season as the only freshman with an offer (Nebraska) and recently added another big offer from an incoming Big-10 member, Southern California. This should come as no surprise after Tory has consistently been a star on the gridiron and track thus far. Pittman finished last season with 34 tackles, two interceptions, a TFL, and a sack. Pittman is a very rangy safety who excelled in both coverage and run support. He’s very tough and a good tackler who won’t hesitate to take on ball carriers in the open field. Very instinctive player in coverage who can break on the ball as soon as he makes his reads. Stock is rising fast for Tory, don’t be surprised to see more offers coming his way this offseason.
Starting varsity as a freshman is hard. Starting varsity as a freshman in Class A is tough. Starting varsity as a freshman in Class A as a QB…. now that’s a big deal. Despite the tall task, Brockston still managed to have a solid frosh campaign, putting up 1,163 passing yards and eight passing touchdowns while completing 61% of his passes. The first thing that stands out about Brockston is his size, standing at 6’4″ and 185 lbs. Teply does a good job maneuvering the pocket and can get the ball out quickly once he finds his target. He has a solid arm and showed that he can deliver the deep ball with good placement. With three more years of varsity experience, Brockston will be a stud by the time he’s committing.
