The West squad owned the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. The offensive line rolled up 437 yards of offense while the defense limited the East to 128 yards. The West offensive line had several different guys rotate in but the starting group of Hunter Taylor (Greenville), Shed Sarratt (Gaffney), AJ Suttles (Byrnes), Kevin Peay Kevin Peay 6'4" | 290 lbs | OL Lancaster | 2025 State SC (Lancaster) and Zeke Funke (Eastside) set the tone.
The scoring started with 5:33 remaining in the first quarter. Justin Rice (Spartanburg) hauled in a 61-yard TD pass from Jordan Sink Jordan Sink 5'10" | 180 lbs | QB Woodmont | 2025 State SC (Woodmont) that set the rout in motion. The West Team added to the scoring three plays later when Sterling Sanders Sterling Sanders 6'4" | 305 lbs | DL Blythewood | 2025 State SC (Blythewood) picked up a loose ball and rumbled 35 yards for the scoop and score.
The West extended the lead to 21-0 before the half when Malik Clark Malik Clark 6'2" | 180 lbs | WR Rock Hill | 2025 State SC (Rock Hill) caught a 7-yard TD pass from Tushawn Richardson (Clinton) with 16 seconds remaining until the break.
If the East had any thoughts of staging a comeback, that was negated on the opening drive of the third quarter. The West used a 13-play, 80-yard drive that consumed 6:57 off the clock. It ended with a Sink 8-yard TD strike to Jackson Repp (Christ Church).
The East team avoided the shutout, but it was thanks to the defensive effort. Jeremiah Burson (Sumter) snagged his second interception of the day and raced 44 yards for the score. Burson is a transfer to Sumter from Laurance Manning Academy.
The West closed things out with two fourth quarter scores – a five-yard run by Richardson then a 20-yard TD strike from Richardson to Cameron Cobb Cameron Cobb 6'4" | 180 lbs | WR Blacksburg | 2025 State SC (Blacksburg).
