There was a portion of Sunday’s session where each position got to spend one-on-one time with a position coach, looking to improve their craft and pick up on things that can help them improve their game.
Here’s a look at what we saw from some of the offensive skill players:
Quarterbacks
Xavier Means Xavier Means 6'0" | 140 lbs | QB Northwestern | 2027 SC | Northwestern (SC) | 2027
Means did a good job of turning his hips and stepping into his throws when we watched the quarterbacks run through solo drills.
Jack Myers Jack Myers 6'0" | 160 lbs | QB Cox Mill | 2026 NC | Cox Mill (NC) | 2026
Myers’ drop back was impressive to watch and he was another one that stepped into his throws well.
Channing Buford Channing Buford 5'11" Hillcrest | 2026 SC | Hillcrest (SC) | 2026
Buford’s pocket presence was something that we noticed early on. He did a good job of planting with his right foot and making the throws.
Josh Sims Josh Sims 6'1" | 165 lbs | QB Blacksburg | 2025 State SC | Blacksburg (SC) | 2025
The way that the ball came out of Sims hands during the session was impressive to watch. He has a nice spiral on his throws and he was accurate.
Long Ball Competition
Ricky Tolbert Ricky Tolbert 6'1" | 190 lbs | QB Asheville | 2024 NC | Asheville School (NC) | 2025
Gregory Fee Gregory Fee 6'4" | 210 lbs | QB Weddington | 2025 State NC | Weddington (NC) | 2025
These two quarterbacks had the furthest throws to about midfield during a competition where they had to throw it as far as they could from the endzone.
Check out more on Fee (pictured above) from the 1-on-1 period between the quarterbacks and defensive backs here.
Wide Receiver
Jayden Baxter | Canon McMillan (PA) | 2026
The wide receivers went through a speed turn drill where they had to turn at the cone and maintain balance and agility. Baxter showed an ability to get in and out quickly to burst out at full speed at the end.
