While the best season in school history came to a defining end in the 1R state semifinals against Madison County, there was plenty to be optimistic and pleased about for the Panama City Bozeman Bucks.

While the 61-22 setback stung, it didn't diminish a 12-1 season that saw this program being thrust into the state spotlight.

What head coach Jason Griffin and this football team did this past season is become the first Bay County team in 20 years to advance to the final 4. In 2001, Springfield Rutherford advanced to the state title game.

While a number of seniors, who were major catalysts in the success of the program will graduate, the Bucks are certainly in great shape with all classes.

The rising seniors (2025) have plenty returning as they look to be the leaders and share their experience. Among those are expected to be Trenton Allbright (OL/DL), Brent Anderson (Slot), Brayden Baker (WR), Jacob Covey (OL/DL), Evan Earnest (LB) and receiver Ashten Freeman. Also, look for Will King (DT), Gabe McFatter (CB), and Treven Sweat (OC).

SEVERAL UNDERCLASSMEN WILL PUSH FOR PLAYING TIME

If this program is to remain successful, it will be because of a strong and stacked underclass.

The rising juniors (2026) will feature Asher Burris (OL), Damien Cough (LB/OL), Roy Denton (OL), [player_tooltip player_id='1626631' first='John' last='Hanson'] (WR), Logan Jamison (LB), Kolton McClelland (CB), Elijah McClemore (OL/DL) and defensive lineman Carter Pettijohn.

The Bucks will also have Ethan Priest (WR), Connor Ruthven (WR/CB), Aidan Tice (WR), and offensive linemen Parker Walsingham.

The true measure for the future will be in the rising sophomore (2027) class where Evan Clements (WR), Casey James-DeLeon (K), Larry Devlin (OL/DL), Hayden Gay (QB), Jarret Gay (OLB) and athlete Caleb Hentz will push for playing time.

In addition, keep an eye on Ryder Hobson (DB), Wade Mitchell (TE), Tanner Stephens (OLB), and Logan Wilson (DT). Class of 2028 rising freshman Rylee McNeil (SS) has also shown promise.
