Joaquin Phillips a 6’1 cornerback who has a long frame which allows him to make plays on the football at outside corner. He has great movement skills laterally and down the field. The most impressive aspect of his ability in coverage is to not only be able to stay in receivers hip pockets across the field and down the field ,but his ablity to use length to create ball production. Phillips coverage will only get better over time and his upside should have defensive back enthusiast as to what he could ultimately look like.Where he shines with his ability to tackle. As an outside corner he’s not afraid to stick nose in the run game and make tough tackles through blocks. in addition he’s a difference maker in special team with his relentless motor and his ability to make tackles in space. Phillips is putting together a well rounded skillset as corner where he can make an impact in coverage and in the run game.
