Jonathan Armstrong, Farwell: Armstrong showed promise as a dual threat QB for the Steers in 2024. He threw for well over 1,000 yards and came close to reaching that figure on the ground.
Bryce Braden, Stratford: Braden is listed at 6-foot-3, 230 pounds, making him extremely difficult for opposing defenders to tackle. Braden Rushed for 1,398 yards and threw for 1,968 yards in leading Stratford to the semifinals of the Class 2A, D1 playoffs.
Colt Cruth, Canyon: Cruth had the second most carries for Canyon in 2023 and looks to become one of the top rushers in the Panhandle next season.
Coltyn Fulton, Tascosa: Fulton proved as a sophomore in 2023 that he has the chops to direct Tascosa’s run-dominated attack. He rushed for a team-high 831 yards and 9 TD on 126 carries. He’ll get plenty of opportunities to keep running the football in the future.
Clay Kendall, Canadian: Kendall was Canadian’s backup QB this past season and showed enough for the coaches to believe he’s ready to take the reins from prolific Camren Cavalier as the Wildcats’ starter. He averaged 11.5 yards per carry, totaling 402 yards on 35 carries as Canadian advanced to the semifinals of the Class 3A, D2 playoffs.
Darien Lewis, Palo Duro: As Palo Duro’s dynamic sophomore dual threat QB, Lewis proved he could throw and run the ball with effectiveness as he led the Dons to the Class 5A, D2 playoffs.
Jett Lopez, Amarillo: When Sandies’ senior starting QB Will Flaming missed some time with an injury, Lopez stepped in, throwing for 366 yards and 5 TD. He looks to be the heir apparent at QB and will have the opportunity to lead Amarillo’s offense for two tears.
Armando Lujan, Sunray: Sunray reached the semifinals of the Class 2A, D2 playoffs largely due to the heroics of Lujan, who threw for 4,211 yards and a staggering 61 TD as a junior. And he rushed for over 1,000 yards and 21 TD as well. In all, he accounted for 5,227 yards and 82 TD. Impressive.
Kalub Ramirez, Hereford: As a sophomore in 2023, Ramirez threw for 2,195 yards and 24 TD in his first year as the full-time starter at QB.
Dylan Ray, Amarillo Randall: Ray led Randall to the second round of the Class 4A, D1 playoffs by rushing for over 1,200 yards. With QB Tryston Sanchez graduating, Ray could be ‘the guy’ next season for the Raiders.
Kyler Read, Dalhart: Dalhart reached the second round of the Class 3A, D1 playoffs with Read doing most of the offensive damage as he passed for over 2,000 yards and rushed for nearly 1,300 yards to cement himself as one of the top dual threat QBs in the Panhandle.
