Colter Pereira

Fires out with some urgency in the run game. Has enough short-area quickness to not be pigeonholed as a phone-booth guy; able to glide up to the second level and at least force defenders to take some inefficient angles. Able to pull across to the left side and crack opponents. Functional strength is where it should be given his size. Shows solid grip strength inside and keeps his feet churning to sustain and generate push, respectively. Able to generate some torque with his upper body. Generally works hard to stick with his guy through the whistle.

Flashes the ability to engage from a sound base at the second level. Pass-set fundamentals are pretty sound, keeping a sufficiently wide base and staying within his frame. Gets enough depth in his kickslide to protect the edge against seven-technique speed-rushers. Shows good awareness to recognize and adjust to rush concepts like stunts/twists. Short-area quickness is more impressive than his size would suggest, allowing him to pivot and recover if needed. Lower body strength is excellent, letting him easily hold the point of attack against power rushers. Actively fires out his hands, with good placement inside.

Very active with his feet once engaged to generate push and works hard through the whistle. Shows impressive flexibility. Lateral quickness in pass protection is solid overall and very good for his size. Was often left on an island and didn’t have much trouble getting enough depth to protect the edge. Pass sets have solid knee bend. Light on his feet to stay connected through counters and shows the ability to pivot back inside. Has a stronger anchor than his relatively trim frame would suggest. Actively seeks out opponents to block.

Has a thick lower body and stable anchor, which he drops early; usually stonewalls bull-rushers at the line. Pretty solid pivot to defend against inside moves. Shows a good understanding of positioning in the run game to effectively wall off opponents. Attacks the outside shoulder and seals. Active with his hands to reset, showing a strong grip and good effort to sustain through the whistle. Works hard to get out in space and lead the way in the screen game, doing a pretty good job of engaging opponents.
