Stone currently holds offers from Army, Navy, Grand Valley State, among others.
All three of the offers above were sent out in mid-late October. So, Stone has proven to be a late-riser in the recruiting process and it was his performance this past season that has propelled him to be a borderline D1 prospect.
Stone shows a variety of useful pass-rush skills as an EDGE rusher. Although I don’t see elite fundamentals at any one move, the variety of moves, his IQ, and overall success against very good offensive lines indicates he has a high ceiling.rnFirst off, he has good bend and a decent dip-and-rip move while rushing from the edge. He consistently wins with good explosiveness off this first step, great timing, and being able to stay balanced enough through his dip. He gets a bit off balance with this move and there’s a lot to clean up at the next level, but there’s no doubt the foundation is there. I see very few rushers even try to utilize this move. Stone also has a good bull rush, has a good getoff, and has a high motor. Against the run, he’s active and knows how to use his long body to his advantage.
I view stone as a pretty raw prospect, but definitely deserving of the offers he’s gotten. The ceiling is high.
Cody holds offers from Toledo, GVSU, Ferris, PWOs from Michigan, Wisconsin, among several other offers.
Cody is one of the biggest stock-risers in the past year. To go from a solid GLIAC recruit to getting attention from Michigan and Wisconsin is impressive, and it’s very apparent that he’s vastly improved every single season.
I could break down Cody’s film for a while, but I’ll keep it pretty general and brief here. Cody’s film showcases relentless effort, great physicality, IQ, and well-roundedness. Even against great competition, Cody is a game-wrecker. With his size, he’s trending D1. Look at the highlights below and see how polished he is as an on-ball EDGE type, as well as a off-ball outside linebacker defending the pass. I love his versatility and effort.
Highlights
Donte is announcing his commitment this Friday (per Twitter). He holds offers from Ferris, Wayne State, Tiffin, Central State, among others.
Donte is looking like a solid GLIAC recruit. The best parts of his highlights are when he’s making plays when man-to-man with someone. He’s shown good footwork, balance, and reaction to the opposing receiver’s movement. When the ball is in the air, he’s great at making a play on the ball leading to a pass deflection. It’s apparent that King trusted him on an Island a lot, and agaisnt most teams, he performed great. If nothing else, he’s battle-tested and ready for the college game from that POV. I do think Donte can get better at recognizing the run and working to stop it.rnIn any case, I think he can develop into a very good Division 2 DB.
Highlights
Zachary holds offers from Wayne State, Dayton, Hope, among others. He just took an official visit to Saginaw Valley on December 11.
Zachary is a player who’s been on my radar for quite a while. It’s apparent that this is a player who has steadily improved over the years, and there are a few really great traits with Zachary. First off, his size is perfect for D2 football. You can’t coach size or body proportions, but this is a player that’s gifted in those regards.rnWhat stands out to me most about his film is his explosiveness off the ball and secure tackling. He’s oftentimes able to get penetration with a great getoff and quick move. He also has a few instances of a great bull rush. His highlights scream solid D2 prospect, which is where he’s currently being recruited.
Highlights
Colin holds offers from Adrian, Northern Michigan, among others.
Stats aren’t everything especially at the High School level, but 25TFLs and 14 sacks will make anyone turn their head. Colin gets quite a few free rush opportunities with Frankenmuth’s blitz-heavy defense. As he’s rushing in his 2-pt stance, he has a decent getoff with solid bend and balance on the edge. This makes him get to the QB a bit quicker, and a lot of the time, he hits home. He also has quite a few high-effort highlights where he runs down a ballcarrier trying to utilize space out wide. Solid tape and high D3 – Lower GLIAC outlook.
