Most players coming out of Canada usually commit in the new year as opposed to early signing day and the class of 2024 is no different. With most of the top players coming out of British Columbia in the class of 2024 including the best player Ryder Kusch still uncommitted I figured it was a good time to give a refresher on the great talents coming out of the province before heading into the new year as all of these players should be coveted by NCAA Programs.

Ryder Kusch (Seaquam) - DL

Ryder Kusch is at the top of our list of uncommitted defensive prospects because he is without a doubt the best player in the province and one of the top 5 players in the country in the entire 2024 class. Having been named AAA defensive MVP in B.C. this past season, Ryder was a dominant force on the defensive line as he combined his 4.8s forty speed with his 6'4" 220lbs frame to have a pass rush win rate of 70% or higher in every single game that he played. Not only is Ryder a dominant pass rusher at the high school level he was even better as a run defender as he was constantly setting the edge, keeping contain as well as chasing down run plays 20 yards down the field. Ryder used his speed, strength and high end compete to be so dominant as a run stopper that every single team made it point to run away from his side. Ryder has all of the physical tools combined with his on field production to be heavily recruited by Power 5 programs as a late addition to any programs 2024 class, Ryder already has a PWO from Washington State and more should be coming in from Power 5 programs as programs look to complete their classes.

Jaxon Allan (Lord Tweedsmuir) - ATH

Jaxon Allan is someone who has the ability to play multiple positions on a defense at the college level depending on what the needs for that program are. Coming in at 6'0" 180lbs, Jaxon primarily played as a defensive end in a two point stance as opposed to a traditional three point stance because Jaxon has the movement ability of a linebacker or a safety. Jaxon has really good speed and agility that allows him to do a multitude of things for a defense. Jaxon is also sneaky strong for being only 180lbs as he consistently was able to push aside blockers and pulling lineman to stuff a play. Due to his physical tools Jaxon can truly line up anywhere inside the box for a defense whether that be at linebacker, safety or defensive end. Jaxon is another player that should garner some late offers from U.S. Colleges as more programs see his tape but he also holds a bunch of offers from CIS schools should he decide to go that route.

Cayden Nguyen (Vancouver College) - LB

Cayden is the prototypical new age linebacker that every college program needs as he is someone who can go sideline to sideline, blitz the quarterback and drop into coverage. Listed at 5'11" 215lbs, Cayden was the best linebacker in the province by a decent margin as he combined all of his physical tools with his high end compete and football IQ to be a dominant force for the championship winning Vancouver College. Cayden has great speed as he runs a 4.71s forty yard dash and shows that on tape as he his incredibly quick to come downhill on run plays, he also shows that speed when he would blitz whether that would be from the defensive line or from the linebacker position. Cayden also has a great shuttle speed of 4.78s which allows him to cover the entire field whether that be in coverage or in run defense. He also has very good awareness to follow the QBs eyes in zone coverage to get underneath hook/curl routes to pickoff the quarterback. Cayden is someone who can play immediately as a linebacker at the next level and he should garner some late interest from FCS programs looking for a really good linebacker.

[player_tooltip player_id='1240273' first='Cole' last='Presley'] (Vancouver College) - LB

If you need a linebacker for the class of 2024 Vancouver College is the place to get it as they have two of the best linebacker prospects in class of 2024 in the province. We already highlighted one member of the linebacker core in Cayden Nguyen but his running mate [player_tooltip player_id='1240273' first='Cole' last='Presley'] shouldn't be overlooked. Cole is slightly bigger then Cayden as he comes in at a listed at 6'0" 220lbs. Cole is a dog on a bone at linebacker who is always hunting to get in the backfield whether that be on run plays or blitzes. While he doesn't have exceptional agility to go sideline to sideline he does overcome it with incredible compete and football IQ. Cole is not shy to take on contact as he plays like no one can stop him from making the play and I love that about him. He can improve on his coverage ability as he is a bit of straight ahead player but he has the work ethic to improve in coverage. Cole is a diamond in the rough prospect who should be recruited by every CIS schools and even some colleges in the U.S.

Brenainn Chow (Seaquam) - DB

Brenainn Chow for my money is the best defensive back in British Columbia for the class of 2024. He comes in at a very projectable 5'11" with burn by you speed. Brenainn primarily lined up at free safety throughout the season where he displayed elite run/pass recognition off of the snap allowing him to consistently be able to come down and help in run support. He used the elite recognition skills to always be on the correct attack angle when coming downhill 9 times out of 10. He improved drastically in zone coverage throughout the year as he improved his ability to read the QB's eyes allowing him to flow better to where the pass would eventually be thrown to while also being elite at opening his hips and attacking the the wide receiver when the QB begins the throwing motion. Brenainn also performed well in man coverage whenever he had to shadow the opponents best receiver often times shutting them down. Brenainn currently has zero CIS offers or Division 2 offers which is hard to fathom because based on the film he should have offers from every Canadian University and even some FCS programs
