Top 5 RB Prospects for the Class of 2024 in B.C.

Listed at 5'11u0022 190 lbs, Lucas is an every down back who has the ability to line up as a receiver as well as being able to run routes out of the backfield that are very high level and diverse for a running back. As a running back Lucas played primarily in a heavy zone run scheme to much success as he led the province in rushing with over 1300 yards in 6 regular season games. He is a very strong, sturdy back who bounces off of defenders with regularity and combines really impressive lower body strength, pad level and mentality to always fight for extra yards on every single down. Lucas has really good field vision to see multiple holes in a zone run scheme while not being afraid to bounce and choose the hole with the greatest yardage potential. He is also an excellent pass blocker as he uses his smarts and compete to help shore up the pocket for the quarterback. He is not a true home run hitter in the open field as he only runs a 4.7s forty yard dash and he does have a tendency to miss the obvious hole straight ahead of him choosing instead to bounce to another hole that isn't as open. Hudson is another player who displays high end compete, strength and willingness to fight for extra yards in every situation which allows him to turn one yard gains into four yard gains. Hudson though isn't just a slow power back, he is also someone who has the speed to separate in the open field while also being able to make quick cuts to reach the open field before using his speed to get in the endzone. He is also a very excellent pass blocker as he can use his strength and smarts to give his quarterback the extra time he needs. Listed at 6'0u0022 180 lbs, Jaxon is a threat to score a touchdown every time he touches the ball as he displays the ability to break the defenders angles and finish with a touchdown when he reaches the second level of the defense. He is a very patient runner often waiting for the hole to develop before quickly accelerating to hit the hole. Jaxon also displays very quick and sudden feet that allows him to jump cut as well as quick cut in an instant to make defenders miss before getting to the open field. Jaxon's agility is not the the only standout trait that allows him to get to the open field as he also displays incredible upper body strength as he constantly sheds defensive backs and arm tackles to give him just another standout trait that is rare at the provincial level. Jaxon projects to be someone who could potentially be turned into a slot receiver as well, if he doesn't stick at running back due to his agility and strength. Listed at 5'10u0022 170 lbs, Rhonde's standout trait is his speed and explosiveness as he ran the 100 meter dash in 11.52s as a junior. His speed really pops on film as he can just put his foot in the ground and before you know it he is already at the second level of the defense. Rhonde is a very effortless runner as it looks like he is just gliding out on the field as he blows past defenders. Although he has great speed Rhonde isn't someone who will try and avoid the middle of the field to avoid contact, he runs within the structure of the offense which allows his speed to shine even more. If Rhonde wants to stick at running back at the next level then he needs to consistently lower his pad level as he is often running to high which doesn't maximize his speed and leaves him vulnerable to big hits by higher level players. Listed at 6'1u0022 205 lbs, Kai showcased the ability to be the exact kind of running back that is perfect for an air raid spread offense. Kai primarily ran the ball lined up out of shotgun which allowed him to let the blocking develop before hitting the holes which showed off his football IQ and awareness because he is not a speedster or a super shifty running back, he's just a really solid all around running back. He displays very good strength that allows him to get to the second level with regularity even if the holes to run through aren't there. He does have a good solid ability to cut in open field that allows him to occasionally break off long touchdown runs despite not being a speedster.
