My Spotlight interviews are dedicated and designed to attract a college coach's attention and provide additional recruiting exposure to New England High School Football recruits. The interviews provide an unknown background on a "specific recruit" during their high school varsity playing years. The interviews include questions to recruits about the recruitment process and their current status. It involves asking questions that allow College Coaches interested in the recruit to learn more about the recruit personally.

Coach Silva: The rising junior has made a huge impression this season while transferring and attending a program in one of New England’s top private Catholic Football League. He has transformed his physical presence to be an edge defender and has drawn college interest with his performance from this 2023 season.  His current height and weight align with college-level Div – 1 FBS Group of 5/or High Div-1 FCS defensive lineman. My early projection of his skill set is he will attract the attention of many Div 1 college programs moving forward.

Head Coach Al Fornaro comments about his prospect: He only became a full-time defensive starter in week four of this 2023 season versus Catholic Memorial. He ended up playing in 9 games total in his new defensive end position. He ended the season with 45 Solo Tackles, 15 Assisted Tackles, 7 Sacks, 6 tackles for loss of yardage, and 5 QB pressures.  I will also mention that by the third game, he was a defensive starter people ran away from him.

Although I think he will be a tremendous edge player, we also used him inside the tackle and tried to take advantage of his ability over an offensive lineman. He has a really good first step in burst he’s very athletic and runs well. Now we get to get him in the weight room this off-season and work on his speed even more and he will be a dominant force.

Highlights

Coach Silva: What positions do you play on Varsity?

Micah Amedee Micah Amedee Micah Amedee 6'3" | 275 lbs | DL Xaverian Brothers | 2025 State New E : DL/OL, I've recently been moved from O-line to a def-end position. The position switch was during a week we had to face a top opponent and stop their double wing somehow. Our coaches wanted to run a heavy defense so they put me at defensive - end. This is a position I never played before. They wanted to see what I could do. The rest is history. I have owned the position and continue to compete daily in practices and weekly in games to keep the position.

Coach Silva: What college camps did you attend over the summer of 2023?

Micah Amedee Micah Amedee Micah Amedee 6'3" | 275 lbs | DL Xaverian Brothers | 2025 State New E : I attended Boston College camp, the only camp I could attend over the summer. I did receive interest from Harvard, which I think originated from attending the camp. I don't know what position I'm being recruited at, but as long as I can maintain the grades I have now, I think I can soon receive a scholarship

Coach Silva: Who are some people in your family who have persuaded you or supported you to play football?

Micah Amedee Micah Amedee Micah Amedee 6'3" | 275 lbs | DL Xaverian Brothers | 2025 State New E : My brother, Marc Amedee has persuaded me a lot especially with him being a barber and cutting a lot of NFL players hair, he tells them about me and they say that as long as I work for what I want I can get it and that motivates me so I could be in their position.

Coach Silva: Is this your first year as the varsity starter?

Micah Amedee Micah Amedee Micah Amedee 6'3" | 275 lbs | DL Xaverian Brothers | 2025 State New E : No this is not my first year starting varsity. I've been starting since sophomore year at my former high school Silver Lake. The switch is way different from Divivion 3 football to Division 1 football. The energy in games is different. The players are way better and just the all-around game is just more intense.

Coach Silva: You are 6'3" - 267lbs. Do you study any College or NFL players in a defensive lineman position your size?

Micah Amedee Micah Amedee Micah Amedee 6'3" | 275 lbs | DL Xaverian Brothers | 2025 State New E : I look at people like Matt Judon, Jalen Carter, and Jaden Verse they are really strong guys and good at what they do.

Coach Silva: Do you play any other sports?

Micah Amedee Micah Amedee Micah Amedee 6'3" | 275 lbs | DL Xaverian Brothers | 2025 State New E : Yes last year I did lacrosse and i played defense but this year I'm just looking at doing track for the winter and spring season for shot-put and discus

Coach Silva: Does anything in the other activities or sports translate and help you in football?

Micah Amedee Micah Amedee Micah Amedee 6'3" | 275 lbs | DL Xaverian Brothers | 2025 State New E : Lacrosse helped me with my football. I was going up against small fast guys and I think that really helped me on the field with just all around football work.

Coach Silva: What do you feel are your strengths about your football skills?

Micah Amedee Micah Amedee Micah Amedee 6'3" | 275 lbs | DL Xaverian Brothers | 2025 State New E : I think my strength plays a big role and my ability to come down the line of scrimmage to meet the running back.

Coach Silva: What are things you feel you need to improve on to help your future football recruitment potential?

Micah Amedee Micah Amedee Micah Amedee 6'3" | 275 lbs | DL Xaverian Brothers | 2025 State New E : My speed, I feel I need to lose some weight. Maybe cut down to 250lbs to get faster. I also need to work on staying low more consistently.

Coach Silva: If you had to compare yourself to a college or NFL player, who would that be?

Micah Amedee Micah Amedee Micah Amedee 6'3" | 275 lbs | DL Xaverian Brothers | 2025 State New E : l want to say I could compare myself to "Jalen Carter". He's not the fastest but he is strong and can get in that backfield every time.

Coach Silva: What are the individual goals you want to accomplish during the remainder of your high school varsity career?

Micah Amedee Micah Amedee Micah Amedee 6'3" | 275 lbs | DL Xaverian Brothers | 2025 State New E : I'd love to become a league all-star or make 1st team all-defense after the 2023 season is completed.

Coach Silva: Is there anyone that you need to thank for putting you in the position that you are in today?

Micah Amedee Micah Amedee Micah Amedee 6'3" | 275 lbs | DL Xaverian Brothers | 2025 State New E : I'd love to thank my mom and dad because without them I wouldn't have been able to make the switch to being a Hawk at Xaverian this season.

Coach Silva: You are a rising junior and academics matter for recruitment purposes. Will your GPA be attractive to college coaches?

Micah Amedee Micah Amedee Micah Amedee 6'3" | 275 lbs | DL Xaverian Brothers | 2025 State New E : Yes after this school year, I think my GPA will continue to attract coaches. Especially with the academic system they have at Xaverian. It is very helpful.

Coach Silva: What do you want to tell the college coaches taking interest in you, and recruiting coordinators reading this article?

Micah Amedee Micah Amedee Micah Amedee 6'3" | 275 lbs | DL Xaverian Brothers | 2025 State New E : I would like to tell the coaches, If you were to choose me to come to your school, I would show up every day and compete against the best to make players better and make the team better. The amount of competition I would bring to a school will make whoever I go up against better every rep that I give them.

Coach Silva: Will you be attending any verified exposure camps after the season?

Micah Amedee Micah Amedee Micah Amedee 6'3" | 275 lbs | DL Xaverian Brothers | 2025 State New E : Right now I don't know but I will be looking forward to going to some college camps over the summer..

After a great championship winning season, I am thankful to have been able to play with a great team with great coaches alongside! #Team58
