Ace has been on my radar for a bit, but what I see from this season of film is really starting to impress me. Coming in at about 6’2 287, he is a big physical kid with a mean streak. In the run game, he can be found moving the line of scrimmage, and getting to the second level quickly. He gets off the ball well when he pulls and punishes defenders when he makes contact. He moves really well for his size with no hesitation. Pass sets are starting to come more naturally to him as he gets stronger. He will anchor his legs and not give an inch. He doesn’t fall for eye candy moves, and when the defender slips up he buries them. Get this guy on your radar as a big stock riser for the 2024 season.
Preston has had some injuries that have shortened his season and stymied some production, but make no mistake about it he can play! Already rehabbing for next season, I am hoping for all positive from here on out for Preston. What he showed this past season was enough to really make a good impression on me, and I am thinking if he rehabs from his injury well, he could be a surprising name popping up in recruiting circles. Time will tell, but I am definitely keeping an eye out for this guy.
Grant is a really good 2 way player I will definitely be keeping an eye on this season. Offensively he is a big target at the TE position who finds seams in the defense and then can rumble his way for some YAC. He can line up in line or split out wide and run a variety of routes. He’s a physical kid who doesn’t get jammed off the ball and he runs his routes hard and he doesn’t round them off at the top. Defensively he is extremely physical too. He flourishes as the LB position who comes downhill and gets to the point of attack in a hurry. I would love to try and catch him in action during the offseason if possible, but he is someone I will be taking a hard look at when we begin our rankings.
Xavier has been on the watchlist for a little while, and I think I have seen enough to definitely move him up into the rankings. He has strong legs and fires off the ball quick, pushing defenders back and creating havoc in the trenches. He doesn’t stay blocked for long as he always tends to shuck the blocker off him and get free. I think he has definitely improved on what he did well last season, and I am excited to see what he can do to keep building on what he has to improve on. I think he is close to breaking into that next level for himself.
Highlights
Max has been a guy I have become a big fan of over the last year or so. His game is so fun to watch, and his natural athleticism is absolutely awesome to watch. He is sure to rise the ranks in the newest update. Offensively they get him the ball in a variety of situations, and nearly always he is getting big gains. He makes one cut and can scoot when he gets some open space. Defensively, it feels like Max is in on every tackle, and does a great job in coverage. He is a wrestler as well and it shows as he is extremely physical and shows great body control. Overall he is one of the biggest stock risers in my eyes this season, and I am pumped to see where he may land this next round of updates.
