Isaiah Hasten
Isaiah Hasten
Hasten was extremely productive and impactful on both sides of the ball throughout the playoffs recording 33 catches for nearly 600 yards and 4 TDs, and another 3 INTs on defense in St. Augustine’s run to the SoCal Regional. He’s a skilled, lengthy athlete on the perimeter at 6’3”/180 with great ball skills and body control on both sides of the ball (WR/DB). He’s an instinctive cover-corner that excels at making plays on the ball against vertical threats in 1v1 situations. Hasten’s impressive playoff run helped him generate December offers from Benedictine College and Culver-Stockton.
Jackson Diehl
Jackson Diehl
Diehl played some of his best football in the playoffs while showing his pure dual-threat ability at QB. He offers some of the most upside of any QB in San Diego’s senior class with his combination of speed, athleticism, and continued improvement as a passer. He possesses the arm strength to push the ball downfield both from the pocket and on the run, produces explosive plays with his legs, and can add touch or velocity into tight windows. Diehl certainly holds the physical tools to be an effective QB at the next level and is one of the top unoffered QBs in San Diego.
Izell Wright
Izell Wright
Wright and fellow senior RB Xzavier Crews have helped propel Sweetwater into the 6-A state championship with their prolific rushing attack. Wright’s totaled 500 yards and 6 TDs in the Red Devils’ five playoff games so far. He’s a strong, physical runner between the tackles that’s patient behind his blockers, drives through initial contact, and has sneaky elusiveness in the open field. Wright’s totaled over 1,400 yards and 11 TDs and another 43 tackles on defense. Sweetwater faces Colusa (13-0) at El Camino College in the 6-A championship on Saturday 12/9 at 11am.
Mangini posted one of the best performances seen in a section title game totaling 10 TDs (6 pass, 4 rush) and over 500 total yards (429 pass, 113 rush) to help LJCD capture the D-III section championship. The athletic senior QB showed promising development as a passer throughout the season after focusing primarily on defense as a junior. His impressive play in the postseason proved he could play either side of the ball at the next level, especially with the type of offensive scheme the Naval Academy is accustomed to. Mangini totaled over 2,300 pass yards, 32 pass TDs, over 1,000 rush yards, and 22 rush TDs in his productive senior season.
Benitez helped guide the Eagles to the D-I AA SoCal Regional with impressive 1-point victories over the top two teams in San Diego (Carlsbad, Lincoln). Granite Hills’ freshman QB was accurate and efficient with the football in the section playoffs and showed ability to make plays when they needed them most. He looked comfortable and composed from the pocket, delivered on-time with quick hitters, and showed ability to improvise for explosive plays downfield. Benitez established himself this season as one of the top QBs to watch in San Diego’s 2027 class.
