The New England Preparatory School Athletic Council is an organization that serves as the governing body for sports in preparatory schools and leagues in New England. This past weekend, they released a 2023 Fall All NEPSAC Awards that is chosen amongst the coaches within the league. The prospects listed below all received All NEPSAC recognition for their season play. These same prospects are projected to draw the attention of various levels of college football after a great junior season of play.
2025 Defensive Lineman Michael Macaione Michael Macaione 6’2″ | 270 lbs | DL Worcester Academy | 2025 State NewE attends Worcester Academy in Massachusetts. Macaione is a prospect that our rankings guy thought may have been ranked too high during the last updated rankings release. Fast forward to this season, and his production easily confirmed his rankings position and may have put him in for a ranking boost. He had 38 total tackles, 4.5 sacks, 7 TFLs, 1- fumble recovery, and 1- TD during the season. The main traits in his skills are his balance and body control combined with good ankles and knee bend. He performed at a high level and caught the attention of many league coaches. His performance from the season earned him 1st Team All Evergreen League|| 1st Team All New England Offensive lineman honors.
We have him projected as a future defensive college prospect. He was ranked as our # 15 defensive line player in the class of 2025 within New England before the fall 2023 season. His physical measurables align with Div-1 low FCS/ High D-2 Defensive linemen.
2025 Wide Receiver Teigan Pelletier Teigan Pelletier 6’6″ | 210 lbs | WR St Paul’s School | 2025 State NewE attends St Pauls School in New Hampshire. The rising junior took his high level basketball skills to the gridiron and surely impressed many around the league this season. a peek of his film showed him lined up out wide and inside. Throw in his ability to high top any ball thrown to him while standing 6’6 in height, created huge mismatches for defenses during the entire season. His skills didn’t go un-noticed as he was selected as All-NEPSAC and All Evergreen Conference honors for his production this season. A highly talented basketball player that will likely have college opportunities in football after all said in done. He is a newer athlete that surfaced this season to our attention and will surely make our updated rankings list being released in January 2024.
Jared Vilcina Brown Jared Vilcina Brown 6’2″ | 270 lbs | DL St. Mark’s | 2025 State NewE attends St Marks School in Massachusetts. He is a talented defensive lineman known for his powerful lower body and effective bull rush technique he can use to be disruptive. He had a very productive fall season. He totaled 40 tackles, and 10 tfls while playing on both sides of the ball in all 9 games during the season. His performances this season earned him 1st team All Independent School League honors and All NEPSAC Class B Honors.
He was ranked as our # 33 defensive line player in the class of 2025 within New England before the fall 2023 season. His physical measurables align with Low Div-2/ NAIA/All D-3 defensive linemen.
2025 Matthew Mullins Matthew Mullins 6’4″ | 215 lbs | TE Canterbury School. Ct | 2025 State NewE attends Canterbury School in Connecticut. He is a former Massachusetts public school player who transferred to the New England Prep School Conference this fall 2023 season as a reclassified Junior. He is a prospect i’ve seen many times in a evaluation setting. He is known for his strong firm hands and 1 hand catches that are performed with ease. Also has very good balance and body control to make difficult catches near the side line. He had 40 receptions for a total of 658 receiving yards and 6 td’s while playing TE. He also played safety on defense and pulled in 6 interceptions during the season. His season performances earned him All Evergreen League honors and All NEPSAC Honors.
He is a transfer student athlete that missed our last updated rankings due to late notification of his reclass into 2025. He will surely make our next updated rankings list being released in January 2024.
2025 Linebacker Asher Wasserman Asher Wasserman 6’2″ | 220 lbs | LB Hamden Hall | 2025 State NewE attends Hamden Hall in Connecticut. The rising junior was a consistent top performer this season. He totaled 96 total tackles, 26 TFL, and 10 sacks in 10 games played. He led his team to a 9-1 season record and a NEPSAC Bowl Championship. Plays with a chip on the shoulder and has film clips of his ability to bull rush and be very disruptive. His season play earned him Evergreen League defensive player of the year as well as 1st team All-NEPSAC and 1st team All-Evergreen honors.
He was ranked as our # 6 defensive line player in the class of 2025 within New England before the fall 2023 season. His physical measurables align with Div-1 FBS linebackers.
