Highlights
Tony DeWald
Tony DeWald
Tony DeWald made a valuable addition to the ICCP secondary this season, transferring in from Lisle HS. Filling in at the corner spot, DeWald seamlessly integrated into the team. A solid defensive back, he possesses an understanding of route combinations. His combination of good speed and agile hips is evident, showcasing his ability to fluidly flip his hips and run. DeWald’s talent as a defensive back shines through his film and I believe he will have an even better year in 2024.
Tyrone Cotton demonstrated elite shutdown corner skills during his junior campaign this year, leaving a significant mark on the field. Accumulating 2 interceptions, 15 pass breakups, and 31 tackles in 2023, Cotton’s standout performance earned him well-deserved all-conference awards. Standing tall at 6’2″, his height poses a challenge for wide receivers, as his length in the corner position makes it difficult for them to find openings. Beyond his physical attributes, Cotton boasts exceptional closing speed, adding another layer to his defensive prowess. With such an impressive skill set, Cotton should be considered a top prospect among defensive back recruits in the class of 2024.
