Sticking with coverage from last Sunday’s Mo/KS Stock Up showcase, I bring you four of my defensive standouts from the showcase. These guys put together a complete showcase from the testing portion down to the 1v1s, they did everything they could to STOCK UP!
Check out my defensive standouts!
Sai’ Quan Copeland | 2026 | LB | Parkhill (MO) | 5’11” 205 lbs
– 4.86 40-yard dash, 4.9 shuttle drill, 8’5″ broad jump, and 7.9 L-drill.
– Sai’ Quan was not just one of the top defensive performers, but top performers in general with a solid testing session, great fundamentals in LB drills, and great coverage in 1v1s.
– Although we didn’t get to see the full extent of Sai’ Quan’s physicality, we did get to see how well he moves, especially in coverage. Showing that he can stay right on RB’s hip pockets and also covers slot receivers very well.
– Great mobility with fluid hips and quick feet.
– Sai’Quan is only a sophomore and already has a solid frame for a LB with room to continue building and adding bulk to his frame.
Austin Robinson Austin Robinson 6'0" | 175 lbs | DB Raymore-Peculiar Sr Highschool | 2025 State MO | 2025 | DB | Raymore-Peculiar (MO) | 5’11” 155 lbs
– 4.71 40-yard dash, 4.31 shuttle drill, 9’5″ broad jump, and 7.04 L-drill.
– Austin is another player who emerged as one of the top overall players in the building after showing off his DB skills and posting one of the top testing sessions of the day.
– Robinson displayed a great mix of physicality, lightning-quick reflexes, and fluidity, which should translate to the next level very well.
– He did not shy away from being physical in coverage, proving he can play press and use his hands very well to break up passes and disrupt receivers. Also worth noting is that Austin does a good job keeping his aggressiveness from being reckless.
Koby Le Koby Le 6'1" | 240 lbs | DL Emporia | 2025 State KS | 2025 | DL | Emporia (KS) | 6’0″ 238 lbs
– 5.25 40-yard dash, 4.88 shuttle drill, 7’6″ broad jump, and 8.22 L-drill.
– All-effort team! Whenever I watched Koby in a drill or 1v1, he seemed to really attack that rep and get the most out of it.
– Koby’s overall strength was eye-opening! He has a powerful, compact frame that can generate a lot of force from his hips/anchor all the way up through his hands when making initial contact.
– Quick to get off the line and is extremely smart with his hand use. He used different pass-rush approaches when battling different linemen.
Skyler Slaton Skyler Slaton 6'3" | 240 lbs | DL Branson | 2025 State MO | 2025 | DL | Branson (MO) | 6’2″ 237 lbs
– 5.02 40-yard dash, 4.69 shuttle drill, 9’2″ broad jump, and 8.0 L-drill.
– “Right off the bus” type of guy. Skyler is a player who passes the eye test immediately with a taller, muscular frame with plenty of length to make his measurables even more appealing.
– Skyler did an excellent job using that same length to create separation and disengage from blocks. Add in the strength shown by Slaton, and it’s clear why he won the majority of his reps.
– Very good get-off— shoots out of his stance quickly, can get great bend when coming around the edge, and is violent with his hands.
– Slaton posted some of the best testing marks among the OL/DL groups, showing his athleticism and explosiveness. 4.69 shuttle was impressive at his size!
