These prospects may possess exceptional skills and potential, but due to various reasons such as lack of exposure, competition level, or regional biases, they may not receive the same attention as their more highly touted counterparts. This scouting report aims to shed light on some of these high school prospects who deserve more recognition for their abilities.
Dominic demonstrates high level QB mechanics, transfer, hips to target combined with a quick release and the ability to extend a play. He is very comfortable in a spread offense and brings experience to his team! Quick release, accurate thrower with good velocity. Demonstrates good arm strength on the vertical throws to the seam, post as well as the deep out and comeback. Execution of the RPO, decision making and quick release all are recruitable and transferable skill sets to the college game. Ability to extend play keeping eyes downfield locating receivers.

Jay Averett
Averett is a very effective QB. He makes quick decisions, demonstrates the ability to move in the pocket and on the edge extending the play. He demonstrates the ability to know where his WR’s are and effectively throws open to maximize YAC. He is savvy, crafty and tough to defend with his mobility and vision down field. Combination QB with very good ability in the pocket, athletic to extend play forcing defense to account for QB when playing zone coverage or man coverage. Difficult for DL to contain Averett, pressure packages must be designed to attack and force specific direction to flush with coverage behind to be effective or Averett will effectively move his offense.
Merritt has good size and strength, allowing him to match up well against larger receivers. He has decent speed and agility for his build. Merritt excels in press coverage, using his physicality to disrupt routes at the line of scrimmage. He has good recovery speed and can stay in-phase with receivers. Merritt is a solid tackler, using his size and strength to bring down opponents effectively. He is reliable in run support. Merritt has good ball skills, displaying the ability to make interceptions and break up passes. He uses his length well to contest catches and disrupt the receiver’s timing.

Dylan Duster Dylan Duster 6’1″ | 215 lbs | LB Huntsville | 2025 AL sees the development of the play, demonstrates patience and maturity fitting open windows. Duster navigates the box very well seeing flow and split flow and fitting the open window. Duster is a 3 down LB. He is very athletic, strong and physical to insert into the blitz package as well as match up vs RB in space.

Sims at first look is a very talented CB. His instincts, vision, transition as well as cover skill set all check high marks for recruitability. His video demonstrates high level ability to stay in phase with a WR as well as the ability to match up and compete for the 50/50. Zone coverage awareness and savvy jump off the video with very good feet, anticipation and COBP – (coming of back pedal)! Good recruit, very talented player!
