WI knows how to produce athletes that thrive in the run game. Massive, powerful offensive linemen, and running backs that can run through you, around you, past you, and any other possible way. We had a great representation of that running back talent come out to Oak Creek for the recent PRZ WI Showcase. A group that put together great testing numbers, and dominated on the field. Let’s talk about the best of the bunch.
Dante Matta
Dante Matta
The sophomore out of De Pere put together a great day showing off athleticism, burst, change of direction, and hands. In the end, the coaches voted that his efforts were the best of the day ovearll, earning Dante MVP of the position group. Check out a recap of his full performance HERE.
The freshman RB out of Arrowhead caught my eyes while reviewing freshman tape in November. Jack caught my eyes again during the PRZ WI showcase. Boerst is a natural at the position. His reps in the drills vs LBs showed impressive traits. Jack was decisive with his jukes. He made his move, stuck his foot in the ground and accelerated out of the juke. The nearly 5’10” 156 lbs freshman possesses the balance to be able to make those jukes while staying square over his feet. This is a name to watch among a talented Arrowhead RB room.

Sean Ryan
Sean Ryan
Sean put together a good day from start to finish. In the testing portion we saw the junior put up explosive numbers that included a 9’6″ and 9’5″ broad jump, and a 4.44 shuttle time. Those numbers carried over to the field in one on one battles and individual drills. Sean plays with a powerful burst out of his cuts. That gave him the ability to make LBs miss and capitalize on small seams of daylight. It was great to get those times and measurables for him, following a season that showed him tote the rock a ton. I’m excited to follow his offseason and prepare for a big senior season.
Kaleb is one of the steals of the Class, and he showed out at the Showcase. He is coming off a very productive season, and carried it right into a strong showcase. The senior had a 9′ broad jump and eye catching 4.28 and 4.31 times in the shuttle. That was great to see because it matched how he plays. Kaleb is a twitched up RB that fits the change of pace role perfectly. You can get him the ball out in space and be a mismatch for LBs or you can attack the edges with his in the run game. Schepp has excellent balance and change of direction. The elusive senior needs eyes on him.

Tosin Kolawole
Tosin Kolawole
The future looks very bright for the sophomore out of Whitefish Bay. He has a great frame at 6’1″ 195 lbs. The big athlete also dominated the testing portion. We saw a 4.72 40, 10’5″ broad jump, and 4.31 shuttle time. Kolawole made a name for himself with those numbers. In the RB drills we saw it put into action. He is an athlete that can win with speed in space or make people miss in tight spaces. I have a feeling there is plenty of power to his game based off how well built he is also. The exciting part is Tosin could fit into more than just the RB role. I would label the underclassman as an ATH right now and watch how he continues to develop. Big things could be ahead. The tools are definitely there.
We have been a big fan of Logan here at PRZ WI, and after the Showcase we are even bigger fans. The junior has a great build for the RB position. A frame that can handle the wear and tear of a large workload. The junior also has the athleticism to play at the next level. Logan put up a 4.5 40 yard dash, 4.44 shuttle time, and 9’4″ broad jump. The athletic traits are all there, and they translate to the field. We saw him be a mismatch in the passing game against LBs. The big back also demonstrated that his explosive traits can make him elusive in tight running lanes. This is definitely an athlete to have on your boards.
Cody Blicharz
Cody Blicharz
My breakout athlete of the Showcase was junior RB Cody Blicharz out of Wisconsin Heights HS. The 5’10” 185 lbs RB ran 4.72 in the 40. On the field we saw that speed help him win to the edges and on deep passing routes. I went to the film to learn more about the junior. Cody plays 8 man football, and definitely stands out from the crowd. That long speed shows up on tape too as he beats pursuit angles, and uses vision to find blocks to set up big plays. Cody is a name to know in he 8 man league.

Another standout tester and performer in the RB group is Mount Horeb/Barneveld’s junior RB. Owen put up back to back 4.69 40 yard dashes, 4.29 shuttle time, and 9′ broad jump. The junior caught my eyes during the drill work also. He is so sudden, yet smooth in his movements. Owen can accelerate out of breaks and demonstrated effective jukes and jump cuts. That explosive burst showed up in his route running too, leaving LBs trying to catch up out of the break. I’m excited to see him step into a bigger role this next season.
