The following day, Sierra got a ‘get to know you' phone call from UNM linebackers coach Shane Hunter.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>An official visit was arranged. On that visit, Sierra was happily informed the new staff would honor his commitment to the Lobos. Sierra signed with UNM on the first day of the early signing period (Dec. 20), becoming the first high school player from Las Cruces to sign with the Lobos in several years.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Sierra signing with UNM highlighted the month of December as far as recruiting is concerned.
