Prep Redzone breaks it all down…
Dorian Barney – Peachtree Ridge
A young, talented, instinctive cornerback with natural athleticism, Barney has a little bit of everything you look for in an impact defensive back. He’s technically sound, shows good footwork, can change directions on a dime, and shows wide receiver-like hands. He can make a play on the ball and can even bait the quarterback into making a throw he shouldn’t. At 6-foot-1 170-pounds, Barney shows some physicality for his age and the for position he plays. He’s a hard-hitting tackler who knows how to properly wrap up and get the ball-carrier to the ground. He’s excellent in coverage, but his ability to also help against the run is why so many teams have reached out recently with an offer. He’s making a lot of noise on the recruiting trail and added a new SEC offer recently from Arkansas.
Jonaz Walton Jonaz Walton 5'9" | 190 lbs | RB Central | 2026 State GA – Central
The top-ranked 2026 back in Georgia right now, Walton is an impressive 5-foot-10 195-pound ball-carrier who brings a little bit of everything to the table. He’s quick and shifty, but also runs with power and breaks a lot of tackles. After a dominant freshman season in 2022, the offers came in bunches early in 2023, and more continue to come his way. The do-it-all back earned new offers from Notre Dame and Virginia this week, adding two more to an already loaded offer list. As a sophomore this past season, Walton ran through defenses on a consistent basis, taking off for 1,683 yards and 22 touchdowns. He averaged an outstanding 8.8 yards a carry and rushed for over 100 yards in 10 different games. He’s a game-changing back and one of the best across the country in the 2026 class.
Naylin Scott – Kennesaw Mountain
One of the fastest and most explosive young receivers across the peach state, Scott is already becoming a big name in the 2026 class across the South and earned a new offer recently from the Pitt Panthers. After a strong, promising freshman season in 2022, Scott was productive as a sophomore this past season, totaling 630 all-purpose yards with 30 receptions and four touchdowns. He’s known for his speed, but Scott also put his ball skills on display this season. He tracks the ball well in the air and has good size already at 6-foot-3 200-pounds. He’s a reliable vertical threat who can sneak behind the defense and make plays down the field. He’s a long strider who picks up yards in a hurry, so if you don’t cover him properly, he’s a threat to pick up big yards and possibly score. He’s still young, and the offers will likely keep rolling in over time.
James Morrow – DL – Buford
One of the more physically gifted young 2026 prospects in Georgia, Morrow is a physically built 6-foot-4 230-pound DE/TE prospect who has D1 potential written all over him. He’s big, physical, and has a high ceiling in front of him as an impact defender. He didn’t play a significant amount of time among a loaded Buford defensive line, but the potential and ability is easy to see. He should be in line for a gigantic junior season in 2024 if he continues to work hard and develop his craft both as a pass-rusher and an overall run defender. The talent and potential is there, and he earned a new offer this past week from Maryland. The promising defender could see more come his way soon.
