These young athletes have the potential to become stars and can significantly impact the outcomes of games. This article will introduce five rising playmakers from various sports who have caught my attention and are considered hot prospects for the future.
Mondricus Daniel
Mondricus Daniel
A solid decision-maker in the backfield. Shows good patience to wait for blocks to develop, shuffling and using stutter-steps to find lanes. Shows decisiveness once he gets going, with sharp cuts and some burst through the hole. Weaves through congestion better than anticipated for a big back, showing impressive flexibility and balance. Runs behind his pads and punishes defenders, showing the ability to barrel into congestion and grind out tough yardage between the tackles. Very difficult to bring down with arm tackles. Has good leg drive after contact to maximize yardage. Shows some ability to improvise when the blocking’s not there.
Kamden Miller
Kamden Miller
Intensity allows him to generate some push as a bull-rusher off the edge. Has impressive lateral quickness to find lanes to the passer. Shows some ability to anticipate snap counts as an A-gap blitzer. Closes quickly when he finds a lane. Diagnoses well from zone and can transition quickly to planting and driving on a spot. Has some explosive movement skills to carry backs and tight ends into the flats. Uses his hands to stay connected when pattern-matching.
Jaiden Smith
Jaiden Smith
Hides his size shortcomings well with the ability to get off the line and miss contact in a phone booth. Puts tremendous pressure on a secondary via burst and unpredictable change of direction. Sharp, snappy movement with a final gear that can get over and stay over the top. Excellent deep ball tracker. Plays light against contact but will fight for every inch and does not back down. Separation with and without the ball looks easy.
Coriya Washington

Washington jolts opponents with his hands on contact. Shows good knee bend to compete in the leverage battle. Has excellent leg drive after contact in the run game and can easily overwhelm smaller opponents. Collapses the edge when attacking the outside shoulder. Surprisingly athletic, executing the Beavers’ zone concepts effectively. Short-area quickness is very impressive for his size. Able to get out in space or to the second level and successfully engage opponents. Does a nice job of playing within his frame in the run game. Shows an excellent motor in space and through the whistle.
A menace after the catch. Low center of gravity, toughness, and contact balance add up to many forced missed tackles and yards after the catch. Plays a powerful game. Sudden burst will show up off the line and immediately upon getting the ball in his hands. Ball skills on both the simple and difficult targets. Can locate the ball through traffic and outmuscle his opponent. Tracks the ball over his shoulder with full control and steady eyes.
