Gage Baker Gage Baker 6'1" | 160 lbs | QB Paradise Honors | 2024 State AZ , QB, Paradise Honors ’24
Baker has had a monster senior season by throwing for nearly 5,000 yards, which he projects to hit this week. He’s a big time gunslinger with a ridiculous 75 TD passes this season, and he’s fresh off a 343 yard 5 TD performance last week over Morenci. For a chance to put his squad in the state championship, I expect Baker to come in with a dangerous demeanor, break that 5,000 yard mark, and finish this week with a big stat line regardless of the outcome at hand.
Jonathan Williams Jonathan Williams 6'1" | 220 lbs | ATH Mohave | 2024 State AZ , ATH, Mohave ’24
The Army commit gets a shot to avenge Mohave’s only regular season loss this week against Sabino. He has a tough matchup at hand against a fired up Sabino squad, so it’ll be interesting to see if he can get in Hackworth’s face throughout the night. Super explosive kid with tremendous play strength and instincts, as he’ll have to be a game changer this week.
Cameron Hackworth Cameron Hackworth 5'9" | 160 lbs | QB Sabino | 2024 State AZ , QB, Sabino ’24
Speaking of Hackworth, he is also touted with a huge role and huge opportunity to take down Mohave for the second time this season, but with a whole lot more on the line. The dual-threat QB has been a massive spark, as he’s thrown for over 3,500 yards and 37 TD’s while adding 786 yards and 12 TD’s on the ground. That chess match with Williams will be one to watch, as this game has an absurd amount of talent and ability for 3A.
Isaac Urias, ATH, Mohave ’25
Urias recently put his name on the map by one of the most dynamic, dominant playoff performances we’ve seen so far. Last week on the win against Blue Ridge, he had a 4 TD night where he had 2 Pick Sixes, 1 rushing TD, and a punt return TD. Twitchy, instinctual, and wired up kid that plays fast and fearless. Urias flashed a ton of potential and seems to be taking that next step in his game throughout the playoffs, and he’ll have a big opportunity to make something happen again this week.
Gunnar Link Gunnar Link 5'11" | 170 lbs | QB Valley Christian | 2024 AZ , QB, Valley Christian ’24
Link has been their key player on offense, as it really revolves around him. He’s thrown for 2,456 yards and 36 TD’s while adding 377 yards and 6 TD’s on the ground. In addition to that, he also leads the Valley Christian rushing attack with 67 carries. As the competition gets tougher and as you go deeper in the playoffs, I would expect Paradise Honors to have his name circled at all times this week in practice. Definite shootout potential between Link and Baker sharing the field, and he has a big opportunity to open some yes.
