Chances were if you attended a majority of Class 5A football games in Kansas this fall you witnessed good quarterback play.

Some of the best passing numbers posted in Kansas were from quarterbacks at 5A schools.

Here is a look at five quarterbacks who finished with solid senior seasons. There were plenty of QBs in the classes of 2025 and 2026 from 5A institutions, but they will be featured down the road.

[player_tooltip player_id='230440' first='Dylan' last='Dunn'], QB, 6'4”, 190, Blue Valley Southwest, ‘24

The Timberwolves had one of the most prolific offenses in Kansas and Dunn was at the helm of it. In 12 games the senior signal-caller threw for 3,777 yards and 47 total touchdowns. In three years at Blue Valley Southwest's starting quarterback he recorded over 9,000 passing yards and threw for 94 touchdowns.

[player_tooltip player_id='1103579' first='J.' last='Brooks Kapplemann'], QB, 6'2”, 200, Liberal, ‘24

Kapplemann is an under-the-radar quarterback primarily because his team plays out west. He had a completion percentage of over 60 percent in 10 games played. He threw for 2,351 yards and 25 touchdowns for Liberal.

Dalton Jorgenson, QB, 5'10”, 170, Lansing, ‘24

Jorgenson had a solid season for the Lansing Lions but was not as productive as I expected. In 10 games played, he threw for 2,197 yards and 21 touchdowns. His best sport is baseball and he has already committed to playing on the diamond at the next level. Jorgenson has committed to the Barton College baseball program.

[player_tooltip player_id='1103598' first='Ryeki' last='Tuley'], QB, 6'0”, 180, Shawnee Heights, ‘24

Tuley really stepped up his game during his senior season. On a team that fought injuries this season, Tuley ended up leading the Thunderbirds to the sectional round of the 5A playoffs. He threw for just over 2,000 yards and 21 touchdowns. He rushed for over 400 yards and found the end zone eight times on the ground. He was the starting quarterback for just one season, so he is not as experienced as some other quarterbacks in the Class of 2024, but he has comparable skills and numbers.

[player_tooltip player_id='543071' first='Jackson' last='King'], QB, 6'3”, 190, Bishop Carroll, ‘24

As a team, the Golden Eagles had a below-average season based on Bishop Carroll's standards. However, quarterback King produced solid numbers. He threw for 1,136 yards in nine games. He threw for 12 touchdowns and rushed for three. He has committed to play football at Air Force after graduation.
