State Semifinal Game Balls: Midlands

Four teams punched tickets to championship weekend and with that came several outstanding performances. Here are the game Balls for last week.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1083060' first='Connor' last='Burgess']</strong> LB and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1142518' first='Demenico' last='Banks']</strong> LB, White Knoll – The Timberwolves limited a high-scoring Summerville team to just 14 points and a total of 281 yards of offense. A lot of that had to do with the play of Burgess and Banks. Burgess finished with 14 tackles and a forced fumble. Lodge stepped up with 96 yards on nine carries with touchdown runs of 1 and 54 yards. In the Bulldogs 46-30 win over Brookland-Cayce in the Class 3A semifinals, the senior QB ran for four touchdowns and 69 yards on 20 carries, and he added 309 yards passing and completed 21-of-27 attempts. He also ran in two, two-point conversions.
