State Championship Preview: Division 1

Division 1 will cap off the weekend of football in Detroit this weekend, and it is a fantastic way to go out! This game will be Power 5 prospects galore. There will be a ton of feature players to keep an eye on, and we'll probably uncover some new names as well that we don't typically talk about. Belleville and Southfield A&T are sure to put on a great show for everyone watching!   Belleville comes in as the favorite going for their 3rd straight title. Coach Calvin Norman has done a spectacular job in his 1st year of getting the most out of his talent pool. Obviously it helps to have the best '25 QB in the country in [player_tooltip player_id='247690' first='Bryce' last='Underwood']. He'll be helped by 2 way stars Jerimiah Beasley and [player_tooltip player_id='251363' first='Kevin' last='Simes']. Belleville has absolutely crushed even the best teams they have faced, like blowing Northville out twice, and Saline in the district finals. This Tigers squad means business, and A&T will have their hands full trying to contain this potent offense.   Southfield A&T is no offensive slouch either. This team can score with anyone, as they have shown. What makes this team different from A&T teams of the past is the well rounded nature of this team. All 3 phases have been very good this season. Isiah Marshall has thrown for over 2,800 yards and 37 TDs this season, and WR [player_tooltip player_id='247706' first='Tashi' last='Braceful'] has caught for over 900 yards and 10 TDs. DB [player_tooltip player_id='667460' first='Jalen' last='Todd'] is a Kansas commit that has been outstanding this season, shutting down everyone. I think it will be a ton of fun seeing the chess game between him and the Belleville receivers all night long.   This game is going to be an absolute blast, with D1 talent at every position. The Belleville offense vs the Southfield A&T defense is going to be awesome, and the trenches will play an important role. If you catch 1 game all day, make sure it's this one!
