Week one of the high school football playoffs in the state of Arkansas is in the books. The first week of the postseason featured several intriguing matchups. Meanwhile, we had several Prep Redzone Arkansas prospects put up some big numbers on a night where it is win or go home. It is time to start a new week with a look back at some strong playoff performances from Friday.

[player_tooltip player_id='232211' first='Brandon' last='Cobb']-Quarterback-Pulaski Academy-2025

The Pulaski Academy Bruins are always a team to watch out for in the state playoffs. Pulaski Academy signal caller [player_tooltip player_id='232211' first='Brandon' last='Cobb'] is a prospect that has been lighting it up all season. In the first round of the playoffs, Cobb was spreading the ball around to his wide receivers all night. He was 34 of 49 for 355 yards and 1 touchdown. However, Cobb carried the ball 12 times for 72 yards and 1 touchdown. He is a player to watch out for as the playoffs continue.

[player_tooltip player_id='968927' first='Wyatt' last='Brown']-Running Back-Perryville-2024

[player_tooltip player_id='968927' first='Wyatt' last='Brown'] was all over the field for Perryville on Friday night. Brown is a versatile prospect that has played on both sides of the ball all season. He put his versatility on display on Friday night this week. On the offensive side of the ball, Brown rushed for 146 yards and 4 touchdowns. Meanwhile, on the defensive side of the ball, Brown racked up 6 tackles, 1 sack, and 2 tackles for loss. Perryville is a team to watch out for as the playoffs continue.

[player_tooltip player_id='149579' first='Dax' last='Goff']-Linebacker-Booneville-2024

Over the past few years, [player_tooltip player_id='149579' first='Dax' last='Goff'] has been one of the best players in the state of Arkansas. Goff is a player that can cause problems for opposing teams on both sides of the ball. To open the state playoffs this week, Goff churned out over 260 yards on the ground. Meanwhile, he found the end zone 6 times on the night. Booneville is a team tat you will want to watch out for this week.

Kyle Hoover-Wide Receiver-Harding Academy-2024

Harding Academy is always a team to watch out for in the state playoffs and this season has not been any different. Kyle Hoover is a wide receiver that does an excellent job getting open for his quarterback. To open the playoffs, Hoover hauled in 5 receptions for 208 yards and 1 touchdown. Hoover is a player that always steps up in big moments and is a player to watch out for this playoff.

[player_tooltip player_id='240083' first='Jalen' last='Dupree']-Running Back-Malvern-2024

[player_tooltip player_id='240083' first='Jalen' last='Dupree'] is one of the most productive running backs in the state of Arkansas. He has put up big numbers all season and that is not going to slow down in the playoffs. Dupree is a running back that just gets strong the later the game gets. On Friday, Dupree rushed 11 times for 154 yards and 3 touchdowns on the ground. Meanwhile, he hauled 2 receptions for 31 yards and a touchdown. Look out for Malvern as the postseason progresses.

Jah'Noah Harris-Running Back-Prescott-2024

The Prescott Curley Wolves never have a shortage of talented prospects. Jah'Noah Harris fits that description perfectly. The Prescott running back had a strong opening to the playoffs on Friday night. Harris rushed 7 times for 110 yards and 3 touchdowns. Keep an eye on Harris as the playoffs continue this week.

Tonio Phillips-Running Back-Newport-2025

Tonio Phillips has had a strong 2023 football season and I expect that trend to continue into the postseason. The Newport running back carried the ball 24 times for 222 yards and 1 touchdown. He is an explosive runner that can get into the second level quickly. He is a running back to watch out for in the playoffs and as well as next season for Newport. Look for a strong playoff from Phillips this week.

[player_tooltip player_id='569285' first='Dizzy' last='Dean']-Quarterback-Elkins-2024

[player_tooltip player_id='569285' first='Dizzy' last='Dean'] and the Elkins Elks have had an impressive season this season. Dean throws an accurate football and can fit it into some tight windows. He put that accuracy on display Friday night. Dean went 20 of 25 for 206 yards and 2 touchdowns. Dean is a quarterback that has played at a high level and I expect that trend to continue as the playoffs progress.
