Playing in their last game of the season, and for some the last game of their high school careers, these RBs are ready to leave it all out on the field come Thursday morning.
Judah Anthony Judah Anthony 5’10” | 160 lbs | WR Woodrow Wilson | 2024 State NJ has been delivering big play after big play for Camden this season. As the lead RB, Judah has ran for 1116 yards and 8 touchdowns so far this season. He is a straight up playmaker that can be extremely dangerous in the open field. A downhill runner with a slight lean to his run, Judah is ready to lower the shoulder on any defender in his path. An elusive back as well, Judah has made a name for himself dodging defenders and getting downfield.
The Gloucester running back Mason Widman Mason Widman 5’11” | 180 lbs | LB Gloucester City | 2025 NJ is another downhill runner that picks up speed as he emerges out of the backfield. The junior RB has had a very successful season thus far, running for 1242 yards and 16 touchdowns. Mason has a good combination of cutting ability as well as breaking through arm tackles. He is able to break out of the pile when defenders think they’ve finally got him. Mason is one of the top RBs to keep an eye on as we enter 2024.
Nick Salas
Nick Salas
A freshman bursting onto the scene the last time he stepped on the field, Nick Salas is a name we will become more familiar with over these next few seasons. What really brought Nick into the spotlight was his performance the last time Roselle Park played a game versus North Warren. In that game alone, Nick ran like an upperclassman as he rushed for 212 yards and a touchdown. On the season, Nick carried the ball for 718 yards and 5 touchdowns. Roselle Park has lost the last three meetings they’ve had on Thanksgiving against Roselle, so they will look to reverse that trend Thursday and hope to carry that momentum into 2024.
One of the most talented and prolific runners in New Jersey, Rashawn Marshall Rashawn Marshall 5’10” | 170 lbs | RB Weequahic | 2024 State NJ is ready for his last performance against Shabazz on Thanksgiving. The Weequahic product put up some impressive numbers in 2023, running for 1630 yards and 30 touchdowns. Weequahic lost their last game against Butler in the sections semifinals, but in that game Rashawn ran in both of their scores. Thanksgiving will bring another challenging opponent in Shabazz, as they also made a deep playoff push and were the ones to eventually take down Butler the following week. With an offer from LIU, Rashawn is one of those players that deserves much more attention at the college level.
Equipped with a powerful stiff arm, Matt Morad Matt Morad 5’10” | 180 lbs | RB Paul VI | 2024 NJ has had himself a senior season at Paul VI. An extremely strong running back, Matt is an RB known to not go down after first contact. Defenders have a tough time getting him to the ground and have just as difficult a time keeping track of him on the field. He is able to weave in and out of traffic and find his way to daylight game in and game out. While Paul VI lost to Bergen Catholic in their last game, the game prior is where Matt really lit up the scoreboard and took control of the game. With 5 rushing touchdowns and 336 yards on the ground, Matt absolutely dominated Notre Dame’s defense and helped lead his team to victory. Going up against Camden Catholic, Matt should have himself another big performance tomorrow morning.
