Continue ReadingWith another week of high school football action in the books, it’s time to visit the Volunteer State to highlight some of the most impactful standouts on the field from last week’s slate of contests. Here’s my list of some notable performers from Week 11 that have established themselves as top tier playmakers.
rnAt the top of my list of notable performers is Omarian Mills Omarian Mills 5’10” | 205 lbs | RB Jefferson Co. | 2024 State TN , a running back at Jefferson County High School. Mills and the Patriots picked up a 68-28 blowout victory over William Blount last week. What makes Mills so impactful on the ground is his size, speed and durability in the pocket, showing off his ability to punch into the open field and muscle his way to the house. I also like how Mills uses his electric speed and footwork to make the most of every snap, dodging and weaving tackles to put his team in a strong field position as well as put points on the board from just a few yards out.

rnI am additionally impressed with Blaine Stansberry Blaine Stansberry 6’0″ | 185 lbs | QB Oak Ridge | 2026 TN , a quarterback at Oak Ridge High School. Stansberry and the Wildcats are coming off a 55-28 win over Campbell County this past week. What makes Stansberry so explosive under center is his quick release, precision in the air and ability to adapt under heavy defensive pressure. Stansberry is most dangerous when given time and space, showing off his ability to hit his receivers in stride on long-range touchdown passes. I also like Stansberry’s ability to scan the backfield and target open receivers in the endzone, proving he can consistently put his team on the scoreboard.

rnClaiming the number three spot on my list is Clayton Harris Clayton Harris 6’2″ | 235 lbs | DL Upperman | 2024 State TN , a defensive lineman at Upperman High School. Harris and the Bees are coming off a 26-7 victory over DeKalb County last week. In addition to being able to instantly apply pressure on the quarterback, Harris stands out with his ability to read the offense and protect the backfield, showcasing his ability to catch offensive playmakers from along the edge. I also like how Harris utilizes his size and physical edge quickly off the snap, using weak spots in the pocket to break free of the offensive line, sack the quarterback and disrupt production in the air.

rnAnother prospect to keep an eye on is Harrison Brownlee Harrison Brownlee 6’2″ | 180 lbs | ATH Columbia Academy | 2025 TN , an athlete at Columbia Academy. Brownlee and the Bulldogs collected a 49-14 blowout win over Grace Christian Academy this past week. What I like about Brownlee is his defensive awareness and ability to shut down the short pass, using his electric speed to knock the offense to the ground and protect the backfield. Brownlee has also showcased his ability to make commanding stops for a loss of yards. On the other side of the ball, Brownlee stands out with his ability to quickly get open for short passes, outrun the defense in the backfield and haul in crucial passes in the redzone.

Andre Allen
Andre Allen
rnComing in at number five on my list is Andre Allen, an athlete at Houston High School. Allen and the Mustangs earned a 42-28 victory over Collierville last week. Allen impresses me with his size and speed, showing off his ability to be physical and attack the ball in coverage. I also like Allen’s versatile edge and ability to be shifty in the backfield, proving he can quickly turn around to make catches as well as break tackles on his way into the endzone. I also like how Allen utilizes his footwork and breakaway speed off the snap, juking out and muscling defenders to become wide open for the deep pass.

Anthony Holland Anthony Holland 5'11" | 175 lbs | DB Northwest | 2025 TN
Anthony Holland Anthony Holland 5'11" | 175 lbs | DB Northwest | 2025 TN
rnAlso worth mentioning is Anthony Holland Anthony Holland 5’11” | 175 lbs | DB Northwest | 2025 TN , an athlete at Montgomery Central High School. Holland and the Indians fell short to Greenbrier 21-12 this past week. Holland makes a difference with his awareness and ability to attack the ball, hauling in a solid interception off a contested pass. Another aspect of Holland’s playstyle that makes a difference is his ability to stay in front of passes and disrupt receivers down the stretch with his physicality. I also like how Holland can quickly adapt to the play, pick up speed and haul in interceptions from behind.
