The stand out St. Francis quarterback continues to impress week after week. Milivojevic did it once again on Saturday in a second round win over Sterling, combining for 5 touchdowns and throwing for 285 yards. He can make any throw on the field and shows incredible poise and arm strength from the pocket. Additionally, Milivojevic can extend plays with his legs and make some impressive throws on the run. The 6’3 senior has been arguably to top quarterback in the state this year, as the Spartans continue to race towards a state title.
Highlights
Jacob Swartz
Jacob Swartz
The 5’11, 180 lbs running back had a big night in win over Sacred Heart-Griffin. While this game saw plenty of offensive fireworks from both teams, Swartz was the main attraction as he rushed for 119 yards and 3 touchdowns on 27 carries. He is an explosive and physical runner who refuses to go down. Whether he’s running past, through, or around incoming tacklers, Swartz is a tough back to bring down. As Morris moves on to the quarterfinals, Swartz will look to continue his impressive senior campaign.
Joey DeVries
Joey DeVries
The senior guard paved the way for a massive rushing performance from the Warren offense. In a 51-21 win over South Elgin, the Blue Devils gained 428 yards on the ground. DeVries was a big part of those monster numbers, as he displayed physicality all game. DeVries, and the entire Warren offensive line, were able to move the opposing defensive line backwards at the point of attack. Whether it was on pulls, down blocks, or combo’s, DeVries played with low pad-level, strength, and motor throughout the game. With a big matchup against Lincoln-Way East this weekend, look for the Blue Devil run game to keep rolling with DeVries anchoring the offensive line.
The senior Joliet Catholic linebacker had a strong performance in a Round 2 victory, as Hrvatin earned 2 sacks and forced a fumble. He measures in at 6’2, 220 lbs and fills a variety of roles for the Hilltopper defense. Primarily playing inside linebacker, Hrvatin gets downhill in a hurry to meet opposing ball carries in the backfield. He can smoothly scrape with pullers and takes on blocks at the point of contact with strong physicality. Hrvatin also shows off his athleticism when rushing the passer and dropping into coverage. As the Hill continues to dominate, Hrvatin will continue to shine in the middle of their defense.

The senior interior defensive lineman from Barrington helped stymie Naperville Central’s rushing attack in a second round victory. Marderosian, who measures in at 5’11, 240 lbs made plays all over the field on Saturday, tallying 10 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, and a sack. He has a quick first step and uses leverage and speed to get penetration in the backfield. Marderosian uses his hands well and plays fluidly to defeat one-on-one blocks. Whether its in the run or pass game, Marderosian plays with a high motor and strong physicality that allows him to win. Keep an eye on Marderosian in the middle of the Bronco defensive line as Barrington takes on Maine South in the quarterfinals.
