Other notes: Beating a familiar foe with a similar talent level twice in one season presents a noteworthy challenge, but No. 19 St. Thomas Aquinas edged No. 14 Northlake Christian to complete the feat — even winning both games on the road — and No. 13 Patrick Taylor overcame a 20-point deficit to beat No. 20 Sophie B. Wright, a district rival, for a second time. Additionally, No. 10 Parkview Baptist’s 42-8 cruise past No. 23 Jefferson Rise Charter sets up a similar rematch in the second round against No. 7 Dunham, whom the Eagles beat to open the season.
Intriguing second-round matchup: No. 7 Dunham vs. No. 10 Parkview Baptist.
Most intriguing possible quarterfinal matchup: No. 2 Calvary Baptist vs. No. 7 Dunham
