7A South Half Preview Brandon vs Oak Grove

Let's check it out. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Brandon</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We all know that the Bulldogs represented 6A south back to back seasons in the state title game. This year they are competing to go to the first ever 7A state title game. [player_tooltip player_id='273250' first='Landon' last='Varnes'] is going to be ready to play. He is a tough guy that has produced in Brandon. However, I think we may see a lot of Nate Blount aka the Nate Train. I think we are going to see Brandon ride behind him on their offense. We could possibly see Brandon's offense try to help keep Oak Grove's offense off of the field. They also have 2027 running back [player_tooltip player_id='403633' first='Tyson' last='Robinson'] that can give Blount a break.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I think that we are going to see a lot of aggression from Brandon's defense. They are going to be very aggressive on the edge with the receivers. They are going to try to win this game by keeping the receivers under control. That won't be an easy task. [player_tooltip player_id='212367' first='Preston' last='Ashley'] is a freshman player in the secondary who will have his hands full. I give their fans a hard time, but listen. This is not the squad to look over. They were on fire last week against Meridian. [player_tooltip player_id='344082' first='Anthony' last='Maddox'] is always ready to go out and handle his business. It's what he does. [player_tooltip player_id='466124' first='Kylin' last='Champagne'] will be on the up and up as always. Their offensive approach can be as balanced as they want it to be. That is what makes this team so good. I think they will try their best to run the ball. However, [player_tooltip player_id='616688' first='PJ' last='Woodland'] is a great guy to get the ball to. He does a great job of being a big target on offense. They also have [player_tooltip player_id='344148' first='Damari' last='Jefferson'] and Tah'j Burkett who add a big plus on offense. Can't forget [player_tooltip player_id='910429' first='Nehemiah' last='Taylor']. Their offense is going to have a very balanced game.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Their defense is going to have to be ready for the run. I think they should try to stack the box. I feel like they have the secondary to hold up for a few mistakes. Henderson is going to have his hands full this week on defense.
