2A State Title Check In: Charleston vs. Heidelberg

Charleston seems to be ready this year, but Heidelberg is not going to back down. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Charleston</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This team is loaded with talent. They have one of the most underrated players in the 2024 class. His name is [player_tooltip player_id='618929' first='Deondre' last='Riley']. I am a big fan of this kid, and I think he is going to do some great things on the next level. Riley is a player that is going to be helpful on offense and defense for his team. When he is on offense, they try to get the ball to him quick. That will be the same thing they try to do against Heidelberg. Marcus Flowers is also a 2026 running back that you need to know. This young man is a beast. He is always making plays all over the field for their offense. Heidelberg is going to want to find a way to keep him under control.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Charleston is also playing good defense this year. This is 2A football, so a lot of their players are going both ways. They are going to want to stop some of Heidelberg receivers from getting the ball in the air. They also need to stop Heidelberg from successfully running the read option. These are the guys that you are going to want to keep an eye on when they are on the field. [player_tooltip player_id='609488' first='Julius' last='Bradley'] is also going to get the job on the ground. He averages over 100 all-purpose yards per game. [player_tooltip player_id='1241251' first='Chase' last='Craft'] is their freshman quarterback who plans to help his team win. He will get busy with his feet and arm this week. He knows the job that he has to go out there and do. He averages 9 tackles a game, so he knows how to be around the football. I am confident that he is going to be pumped up for this game.
