J’Quan Mason J’Quan Mason 6’4″ | 210 lbs | LB McAdory | 2024 State AL is a really talented player for McAdory that we have slept on for awhile, he’s been a serious difference maker for them and has landed himself in our Rankings for a big debut. Mason is a super talented player at EDGE and really impacts opposing offenses in a wide variety of ways- he can pressure and bring down the quarterback at a high rate and also has the ability to really get involved in the run game as well. Mason has a ton of strength he uses to bully opposing offensive linemen, he routinely finds himself in the backfield and has the ability to close lanes and work his way around to get to the ball carrier to make tackles. Over the summer, Mason made the decision to commit to Troy- giving them a really strong instate addition for their 2024 class!
Jywon Boyd Jywon Boyd 6’1″ | 185 lbs | DB Charles Henderson | 2024 State AL was a really talented piece of Charles Henderson’s fantastic defense this season, consistently providing them with great coverage and big time plays in their secondary. Boyd has been a really valuable playmaker for them, especially in his senior season this fall. In total, Boyd ended up recording 42 tackles (1 for loss), 3 interceptions, 4 pass breakups, and one forced fumble on the year, and was consistently a nightmare for offenses to throw against. Boyd has a ton of different talents out in coverage- he is super quick footed and isn’t easily baited on routes, can read and react really well, and has the hands and eyes to get interceptions or jar the ball free. Boyd picked up a lot of attention from some great schools at the next level and ended up pledging his commitment to Troy, giving them another super talented instate addition to their 2024 class!
Ethan Johnson Ethan Johnson 6’0″ | 215 lbs | LB Shades Valley | 2024 State AL , one of Shades Valley’s destructive linebackers, had one of the best individual seasons in the state for a defensive player this fall-he was able to rack up a ton of great plays against some of the top offenses in the state on a weekly basis. On the season, Johnson was absolutely everywhere on the field- he ended up with a staggering 155 total tackles (18 for loss) 8 sacks, 1 interception, 5 forced fumbles, and 3 fumble recoveries. As the stats show, Johnson was an absolute game wrecker all season long- he’s a player you can truly give any assignment- he provides good coverage, run support, and pressure on the quarterback on every snap as he plays with a ton of effort. Deservedly, Johnson has picked up a good bit of attention from the next level and lists offers from Appalachian State, Marshall, Coastal Carolina, and more. Keep an eye on him as we head towards December, it’ll be exciting to see where he ends up committing!

Nathan Jennings Nathan Jennings 6’4″ | 240 lbs | DL James Clemens | 2024 State AL has had a wild last year as he has completely broken out as a prospect and became an massive threat on James Clemens defensive line by making plays against a ton of great offenses across the state. Jennings is a huge guy with a ton of speed, strength, and a terrific motor- it was easy to see this on tape with his 61 total tackles (10 for loss), 5.5 sacks, 2 hurries, and two pass breakups throughout the season. Jennings is a big time player that has progressed a ton in just the last year, give him some more time and he will continue to develop to be a huge player at the next level. Over the summer, Jennings committed to South Alabama and with how he’s been playing this fall it’s evident that he’s going to be a really valuable player for them in the future.

Braden Jackson Braden Jackson 6’1″ | 180 lbs | DB Gulf Shores | 2024 State AL is a big time athlete and playmaker for this years undefeated Gulf Shores team and he has had a huge season on both offense and defense for them but really has thrived as a ball hawking defensive back. Jackson has been instrumental in a lot of his team’s success- on the year, Jackson has benefited his team a ton by recording 28 total tackles (3 for loss), 6 interceptions, 2 forced fumbles, and 3 blocked punts, while also being utilized as a weapon downfield with 14 receptions for 378 yards and 5 touchdowns. Jackson is a special athlete with great size and speed, and has some terrific hands and eyes as well that allow him to constantly locate and make plays on the ball. It doesn’t matter where you line him up, he will produce for you. Jackson has picked up a lot of collegiate attention over the last year listing offers from Tulane, Troy, NC State and more- keep an eye on him after this postseason, it’ll be exciting to see where he ends up committing!
