Game Predictions

#4 Greenbrier West (12-0) at #1 James Monroe (10-1)
The #1 James Monroe Mavericks are looking to make the Class A State Championship game for the second year in a row when they host fellow Southern West Virginian school Greenbrier West this Friday. Greenbrier West has not made the state championship game since 2013 and seems to be a team on a mission this season. They’ll have revenge on their minds after James Monroe bounced them from the playoffs last season in the quarterfinals and I firmly believe that Greenbrier West is one of the two best teams in Class A this season. Give me the Cavaliers to defeat the Mavericks on their home field and make their first trip to Wheeling in 10 years.
Final Score: Greenbrier West 34 James Monroe 17
#3 Williamstown (12-0) at #2 Tucker County (12-0)
We have the battle of two undefeated teams in this one when Williamstown travels to Tucker County to take on the #2 Mountain Lions for a trip to Wheeling. Tucker County has not made the state championship game since last doing so in back-to-back years in 1986-87. Williamstown, however, has been a regular in the state championship game making it 11 times and winning it three times including 10 trips since 2000. Tucker County has been an awesome story this season but unfortunately for Mountain Lion fans their dream season will come to an end against a very good Williamstown team.
Final Score: Williamstown 42 Tucker County 20
