Acadiana overcame a slow first half to shut out rival Carencro after the break and punch its ticket to the quarterfinals with a 14-7 comeback.

The Rams return to the quarters for the seventh time in the past eight years after falling short to the Bears in last year's second round.

The Bears' sophomore star helped create the bulk of their successful offensive plays — both runs and throws — including converting early third and fourth downs to keep first-quarter drives going and a quick drive just before the half with a throw down to the 5-yard line and a goal-line touchdown run.

The Rams' junior standout has played and increasingly three-phase role as this season has continued, including his versatility on offense as a receiver and rusher, working much of the night at corner and a late punt return that helped set up prime field position for the go-ahead touchdown.

Another two-way standout for his team, Cyprien wrapped up his high school career as an underrated edge-rusher who has solid next-level potential and showed some of his athleticism on the other side of the ball as a pass-catching tight end including one reception on which he showed his strength and balance after contact, catching himself before hitting the turf and taking back off for a long gain to help move the chains.

The Wreckin' Rams appear to be peaking at the right time with arguably their three best wins coming in their past four games with their junior quarterback back at the helm after working through and back from a nagging injury earlier in the season. DiBetta popped a long run on the first play of the second half, then found younger brother [player_tooltip player_id='934589' first='Collin' last='DiBetta'] for another nice gain to help provide a much-needed offensive spark.

The younger DiBetta continued his strong freshman campaign as he became the leading receiver for his brother during the second-half comeback, including a quick catch and run for the game-tying touchdown and another big gain on the go-ahead drive late.

The senior safety was a menace in the box for the Rams, helping join his teammates up front in disrupting and stifling the Bears throughout the night including multiple big plays behind the line and a batted-down pass on a third-down blitz.

[player_tooltip player_id='913926' first='Dalyn' last='Lewis'] | 5-10, 155 DB | Acadiana (2025)

The junior defensive back came up with two of the Rams' biggest plays in coverage on a pair of fourth-down stops: one in the first quarter to finally help the defense get off the field after a couple pivotal conversions by Carencro along the way, and the next on the Bears' final offensive play to help secure the victory.

Similar to [player_tooltip player_id='426961' first='Russell' last='Babineaux'] for Acadiana, the Carencro senior made plays for his team in all three phases, including the long, leaping reception before the half that helped set up the lone touchdown and a 35-yard kickoff return late that gave the Bears a legitimate chance after falling behind.

and [player_tooltip player_id='421603' first='Dominick' last='McKinley'] | 6-7, 270 DL | Acadiana (2024)

The McKinley brothers — Dominick, the Texas A&M-committed senior working predominantly inside, and Darryus, the sophomore working more from the edge — helped spearhead a difference-making effort in the trenches for the Acadiana defense. The Rams got consistent pressure in the backfield and contained [player_tooltip player_id='710967' first='Chantz' last='Babineaux'], [player_tooltip player_id='1203220' first='Cashmire' last='Batiste'] and company to a fraction of their typical offensive output, seven points on the night compared to an average of 49 in the Bears' previous 11 contests.
