The Woodbridge Vikings (2-3, 1-0) coming off their bye week snapped their three game losing streak with an impressive victory against Hylton 27-0. Forest Park (3-3, 1-1) was taken to the woodshed by Freedom last Friday but let’s be honest the Eagles are in a different class than much of the state at this point. The Bruins operate a power running game behind a gigantic offensive line and a stud workhorse running back. Woodbridge is much different as they love to throw first and react second, especially with a new freshman quarterback who is going to be heard from for years to come. I will be covering this game and personally cannot wait as both schools believe they are playoff bound, tomorrow will be a great chance for either to make us all believers. That all being said here are some players to watch:
This young man is a force to be reckon with on the defensive line and will be a tough matchup for the Vikings. The senior defensive end/linebacker Perry is all over the field and is sure to have a number of FCS and FBS suitors by seasons end. A good frame at 6’3 and he has the speed and coverage ability to play both positions at the next level, he also boasts a 3.3 GPA.

Highlights
When Forest Park was struggling at the start of the season, they turned to junior running back Landon Hunt Landon Hunt 5’10” | 210 lbs | RB Forest Park | 2025 State VA and that has gotten the Bruins on track. As we said Forest Park operates a power running offense and this dude is the workhorse. One the state leaders in rushing yards, here is what I wrote about him a couple weeks ago:
Finally the Bruins broke through with a much needed victory over Alexandra City this past weekend and a lot of it has to do with this man Landon Hunt Landon Hunt 5’10” | 210 lbs | RB Forest Park | 2025 State VA . Following great work from his young stout offensive line, the junior running back accounted for 131 rushing yards with 1 touchdown. Mr. Hunt has been a one man wrecking crew for Coach Robinette’s offense and is on pace for a 1,000 yard season. He has good speed, vision and is not afraid to use his shoulder pads to lower the boom, just ask Alexandra City.rnhttps://twitter.com/LandonHuntRb5/status/1701058962131390721?s=20
Nathaniel Wright Nathaniel Wright 6'5" | 275 lbs | OL Forest Park | 2025 State VA
Nathaniel Wright Nathaniel Wright 6'5" | 275 lbs | OL Forest Park | 2025 State VA
One of the big man upfront for the Bruins is division 1 prospect junior tackle Nathaniel Wright Nathaniel Wright 6’5″ | 275 lbs | OL Forest Park | 2025 State VA . Already with an offer from Duke after his sophomore year, Wright’s stock has risen with school such as Virginia Tech and East Carolina garnering their interest. It is only a matter of time until he has 10 plus FBS offers, he is 6’5, 275 lbs. and he is still growing. This will be my first time watching Forest Park so I am looking forward to see what everyone is saying about him and the entire offensive line for Coach Robinette for that matter. Wright certainly passes the eye test on tape, now time to see if he does in person.

Denzel Lambert
Denzel Lambert
One of my favorite players to watch and he did not disappoint two weeks ago when he single handily flipped the momentum towards the Vikings in their win over the Bulldogs. Lambert was as advertised, a 6’3 wide receiver with top notch speed and good route running, you are missing out if you do not take a look at his tape. In my opinion he is good enough for division 2 if not possibly FCS level, but we still have time for coaches to come to their senses. Here is what I wrote about him after his monster outing:
Admittedly I was anxious to watch Lambert play as all he had done on tape was make defenders look foolish. He did not disappoint this weekend as he was the catalyst that woke up the Vikings offense. Struggling with penalties and turnovers through 2 and half quarters, Lambert electrified the home crowd with his impact plays. After he nearly took a punt return the house, on 3rd and 18 he got behind the defense and hauled in a touchdown pass to break the scoring draught. The next offensive possesion, he took a screen pass 52 yards to set up Woodbridge in the redzone. This was all his team needed to put this contest away, but man can this kid play.Attention college coaches he is 6’3 with good speed and exceptional hands, please take notice before you miss out.rn
Marquis Gardner
Marquis Gardner
The all conference corner has excellent ball skills and is not afraid to come up and play the run, which will be key in this showdown. Forest Park may throw no more than 5 passes a game, the Vikings will need Gardner’s physicality to come up and deliver a hit. Gardner makes play on special teams too, even returning a partially blocked punt against Hylton for a touchdown. A very even matchup this could be a game where a blocked punt or field goal could come into play, do not be surprised if Gardner is involved.
The freshman sensation that everyone locally is talking about is quarterback Denari Hill Denari Hill 6’2″ | 175 lbs | QB Woodbridge | 2027 VA . Seeing him play two weeks ago you can tell the potential is there, he has a nice frame and a calming presence in the pocket. What I want to see him to do tomorrow is to not force anything and if he needs to throw the ball to please do so. He has plenty of talent at his disposal no need to cause a turnover trying to do too much. This will most likely be a one score game and if the ball is in Hill’s hands for the last possession look out as their will be fireworks.
