WEST LAS VEGAS AT ROBERTSON (SMALL SCHOOL SPOTLIGHT): West Las Vegas traveled to cross-town rival Robertson Saturday knowing if they beat the Cardinals for the first time in more than a decade, the Dons wouldbe district champions and possibly the No. 1 seed in the 3A playoffs. It didn’t happen as Robertson beat WLV, 37-6 at Cardinals Stadium. After a scoreless first quarter, Robertson struck first on the scoreboard on a 52-yard TD pass. They added two more TD in the second quarter, one on a 32-yard TD pass from QB Jesse James Gonzales to WR Nathaniel Gonzales Nathaniel Gonzales WR Robertson | 2025 State NM , for a 21-0 lead before elite placekicker booted a 46-yard field goal through the uprights for a 24-0 halftime lead. Robertson added a TD and two Doss FGs in the second half. WLV’s lone score came in the fourth quarter when the outcome was pretty much decided. The Robertson defense was stellar all game long, completely stonewalling the Dons running game and limiting the yardage in the passing game. In short, WLV never was able to get much going on offense.
