But Warren Easton dominated the line of scrimmage to hold host John Ehret scoreless for three quarters as it stretched its lead en route to a 35-14 victory.
Greg Donaldson Greg Donaldson 5'11" | 180 lbs | ATH Warren Easton | 2024 State LA | 5-11, 180 QB/ATH | Warren Easton (2024)
The senior quarterback completed 12 of his 18 passes for 145 yards and a touchdown, rushed 11 times for 73 yards and did a good job controlling the game, taking care of the ball and making good decisions on when to pitch to his running backs or keep.
Clarence Foster | 5-10, 210 DL | Warren Easton (2024)
The Eagles’ defense was physical, disruptive and relentless to shut out John Ehret for more than three quarters, and the effort started with the strong tone set up front by Foster in the middle and a deep cast of his teammates in the box all taking turns making plays behind the line.
Kyon Holliday | 5-10, 170 WR | Warren Easton (2024)
The speedy senior receiver opened the game with a long kickoff return and was impactful on both special teams and offense, where he caught the Eagles’ only receiving touchdown just before halftime to capitalize on a takeaway and stretch their lead to 21-0 before the break.
Nasir Hudson Nasir Hudson 6'3" | 240 lbs | DL Warren Easton | 2024 State LA | 6-3, 240 DL | Warren Easton (2024)
As mentioned above for Foster, the Eagles’ strong play in the trenches created problems for the John Ehret offense early and often. And Hudson has proven one of the group’s most consistent and intriguing playmakers — with college size, a good get-off and quick, violent hands — during Prep Redzone Louisiana’s visits with Warren Easton this spring and fall.
Tyhaj Johnson | 6-3, 240 LB | Warren Easton (2024)
Another standout in the box for the Eagles’ stifling defense, Johnson is a tall, long linebacker who moves well laterally and adds another big, athletic playmaker rushing around and between Foster, Hudson and company up front.
Darnell O’Quinn Darnell O’Quinn 5'11" | 150 lbs | WR John Ehret | 2024 State LA | 5-11, 150 QB/WR/ATH | John Ehret (2024)
The transfer from Helen Cox took about half the Patriots’ snaps at quarterback and scored both the team’s touchdowns in that role on 23- and 66-yard runs on which he showcased he quickness to throw off defenders’ angles and speed once he hits his lane. O’Quinn also caught a 40-yard pass down the sideline for another of Ehret’s biggest gains.
Fred Robertson Fred Robertson 5'9" | 180 lbs | RB Warren Easton | 2024 State LA | 5-9, 180 RB | Warren Easton (2024)
The Eagles’ senior running back was the clear offensive player of the game with his explosive 207-yard, three-touchdown performance on just 20 carries. Robertson’s footwork, power through contact and breakaway speed were all on display with his scoring runs of 15, 59 and 6 yards and each other carry in between.
Dylan Smith | 5-11, 175 DB/LB | John Ehret (2024)
The senior quickly grabbed a loose ball almost immediately after the fumble hit the turf for a second-quarter takeaway while the game was still within two scores.
Antonio Taylor Jr Antonio Taylor Jr 5'10" | 205 lbs | DB Warren Easton | 2024 State LA . | 5-10, 205 DB | Warren Easton (2024)
The senior is one of the most experienced and consistent playmakers on the Eagles’ defense and stepped up Thursday with a leaping interception before halftime that set the team up to effectively blow the game open with a third touchdown before the break.
Thomas Vaughn Thomas Vaughn 5'9" | 170 lbs | RB Warren Easton | 2026 State LA | 5-9, 170 RB | Warren Easton (2026)
The sophomore complement to Robertson in the running game busted the game’s first touchdown, a 40-yard dash after several runs by his senior teammate to set it up, and provided spells throughout the game before taking over more consistently late.
