Simply put, we are always looking to add more players to our rankings. After scavenging through tape, I found some unranked Alabama prospects who are getting it done on Friday night.
Demarcus Wynn – DL – 2024 – Ramsay
Wynn is a stout, strong, and explosive DL prospect who provides an outstanding blend of speed and power across multiple positions on the defensive front. At 6’1 260, Wynn doesn’t have the length to instantly pop on the radar for P5 schools, but he plays with an extremely high motor and is capable of denting the pocket from the inside. First and foremost, Wynn has the explosiveness and drive in his lower body to completely push blockers back in the face of the QB. When he does get locked up or double-teamed at the line, he continues to work by shedding blocks. Wynn strikes his hands with quickness and showcases some solid grip strength, allowing him to rip through blockers. Wynn has the pass-rushing blend and fluidity as an athlete to run the arc around tackles and flush the QB from the backfield. He has outstanding pursuit skills, showing that he is both willing and capable of flagging down the football from sideline to sideline. We know he can create push and take up space in the run game, but he also has the suddenness to quickly shoot gaps and present face in the backfield, instantly wrecking the plan between the guards for RBs. Wynn’s blend of speed and power and his ability to rush the passer from the interior makes him a no-brainer D1 prospect, regardless of his length.
Diego Camboia – OL – 2024 – Mobile Christian
Camboia is a unique eval with his natural traits, checking some P5 measurable boxes while also showing some real upside. Camboia spends a lot of time at RT, but he can absolutely slide inside and play some guard at the next level if needed. He is tough to move coming in at 6’5 304. Against the run, he fires off the ball and is able to completely buckle defenders, thanks to the incredibly strong and fast punch he has under his belt, which translates all across his game. Against the pass rush, Camboia is still developing the footwork in his pass set, but he keeps his eyes up and has a solid understanding of when to fire his hands, which connect with the force to drive some air out of the lungs of defenders. Also, thanks to his reach, he is still hard to get around even if his pass-set isn’t super crip at this stage. Camboia is still raw, but there are plenty of reasons to like his upside. He towers over everyone else, fires his hands, and is some extra development away from becoming an even more impressive prospect.
Peyton Plott – WR – 2025 – Carroll
Plott is one of the state leaders in receiving yards so far this year and is capable of playing inside/out while impacting the game at all levels of the field. He is a smaller, more dynamic WR prospect at 5’9 165. He is a YAC machine, flashing joystick-like movement once he gets going in space. He has a noticeable blend of speed, burst, and acceleration once he hits his stride, quickly getting to his top speed and climbing the levels of the defense in a hurry. He is a decisive decision-maker as he gets downfield, pinpointing running lanes and exploiting them with little to no hesitation. His nimble frame and suddenness allow him to squeeze running lanes and slip out of a crowd. Plott is extremely light-footed and dynamic, breaking down defenders with his start/stop ability. He can also spin off of tackles while maintaining balance and body control. An underrated part of his game is how he impacts the passing game downfield. When CBs press up on him, he quickly climbs the sidelines and gets separation downfield, so he is a frequent target on the deep ball. He flashes natural hands, high-pointing the football as well as reaching across his frame to pluck it out of the air. He kicked off his mid-season tape with a flashy one-handed snag in stride. Plott is a big-time playmaker with the ball in his hands and has special teams upside. This would be an underrated pickup.
Jamarion Matthews Jamarion Matthews 6'4" | 220 lbs | DL Sparkman | 2026 State AL – EDGE/DE – 2026 – Sparkman
Matthews is an intriguing size/speed eval who is towards the top of the state in sacks. Matthews comes in at 6’4 220 and is still extremely nimble with a large portion of his physical development ahead of him. Even as a skinner defender, Matthews still uses his elite length to his advantage and is not afraid to stick his nose in and play an assertive brand of football. His first-step explosiveness paired with his natural speed and athleticism sets the stage for the rest of his game. Immediately, Matthews is capable of creating penetration off the edge and immediately flustering the QB. He is capable of dipping his shoulder and setting up blockers to then slip by and pursue the QB from different angles, similar to how a WR works against a DB to get them off-platform. Against the run, Matthews can set the edge with his speed and length, locking out against tackles and driving his feet to continue climbing downhill and manipulating the ball carrier. As a tackler, Matthews flies to the ball carrier in a hurry and keeps his eyes up to ensure a firm tackle and prevent fly-bys. Matthews and his elite length paired with his speed makes him an intriguing prospect capable of generating P5 buzz.
