Highlights
At the top of my list of notable performers is Parker Chaney Parker Chaney 6'0" | 180 lbs | ATH Lexington Christian Academy | 2024 State KY , a 6-foot-0, 180-pound athlete at Lexington Christian Academy. Chaney and the Eagles are coming off a 55-12 blowout win over Washington County last week. Chaney stands out with his breakaway speed down the stretch, proving he can haul in challenging deep passes. I also like how Chaney can exert his strength and withstand heavy contact as he muscles his way into the endzone. In coverage, Chaney has proven he can blast the defense to the ground and boost production in the air.

I am additionally impressed with Lukus McDaniels Lukus McDaniels 6'5" | 230 lbs | ATH Jeffersontown | 2024 State KY , a 6-foot-5, 230-pound athlete at Jeffersontown High School. McDaniels and the Chargers are coming off a 42-8 rout of Valley this past week. In addition to excellent footwork and physicality, what impresses me the most about McDaniels is his ability to maneuver the field as well as consistently break tackles. McDaniels has made a big difference on the ground, proving he can stay on his feet under pressure, utilize his quickness in the pocket and keep the offense locked in on third-down.

Claiming the number three spot on my list is Jd Crump Jd Crump 6'2" | 205 lbs | ATH Hart County | 2024 State KY , a 6-foot-2, 205-pound athlete at Hart County High School. Crump and the Raiders defeated Franklin-Simpson by a final score of 21-18 last week. What makes Crump so explosive is his overall defensive awareness and positioning, proving he can utilize his quickness to haul in picks and break tackles on his way to the backfield. Crump’s ability to act fast and adapt to the opposition’s strengths also impresses me as he’s proven this season that he can intercept the quarterback off dropped passes.

Another skilled prospect to watch for is Jaquon Coulter Jaquon Coulter 6'0" | 150 lbs | ATH Taylor County | 2025 State KY , a 6-foot-0, 150-pound athlete at Taylor County High School. Coulter and the Cardinals recently collected a 37-21 victory over Lincoln County last week. Coulter stands out with his electric speed and ability to maneuver the field, breaking tackles on his way to the house. With outstanding breakaway speed, Coulter can get open in the backfield for touchdown passes and haul in deep passes despite heavy coverage. On the other side, Coulter stands out with his ability to make quick stops and apply pressure on the quarterback.

Coming in at number five on my list is Kam Hughes Kam Hughes 5'9" | 180 lbs | ATH Somerset | 2024 State KY , a 5-foot-9, 180-pound athlete at Somerset High School. Hughes and the Briar Jumpers picked up a 36-13 victory over Leslie County this past week. Hughes impresses me with his explosiveness on the ground, showcasing his ability to use bursts of speed in the pocket to withstand contact and escape into the backfield. Hughes also contributes unstoppable quickness from along the edge, blasting into the backfield with his ability to consistently dodge and weave defenders.
