Continue ReadingDivision 1 talent is far and few between when looking at High School football, but Washington State is slowly becoming one of the most recruited states in the country. We will take a look at some of the top performers on the east side of the state – reflecting on their recruiting this season.
5. Brayden Allen Brayden Allen 6'0" | 175 lbs | WR Ridgeline | 2025 State WA WR – Setting both single game records and leading the GSL in receiving yards, it’s hard to ignore Allen’s impact for the 4-2 Ridgeline football team. When watching his midseason highlight tape, it’s hard to ignore the ball skills that Allen posses, along with the ability to play through physical defense. Being in the class of 2025, I suspect Allen to pick up attention via Junior Day visits this spring and will shock on the summer circuit to those not familiar with his play.
4. Waylon Romero Waylon Romero 6'3" | 235 lbs | DL University | 2024 State WA DE/DT – The EWU Commit has been blazing a warpath throughout the first 6 weeks of the season – showing in his most recent highlights why the recruit has attracted so much Big Sky (FCS) attention. The ability to play all over the defensive line is incredibly impressive, and considering his innate ability to destroy blocks and rush the passer, Romero is one of the most valuable players in the GSL and an absolute weapon for the U-High defense.
3. Diezel Wilkinson Diezel Wilkinson 6'0" | 185 lbs | ATH East Valley | 2024 State WA RB – Although East Valley is off to a 2-4 start this season, Diezel has been a bright light on the Knights offense, leading them in both touchdowns and all-purpose yards throughout their first 6 games. The Idaho commit has shown an incredible ability to use both speed and power when running the football, making his play dynamic and unique amongst the running backs in the area.
2. Aaron Kinsey Aaron Kinsey 6'0" | 170 lbs | ATH Rogers | 2024 State WA QB/WR/DB- Aaron has shown consistently why he is one of the best athletes on the east side of the state – leading Rogers to their best start (4-1) in over 20 years. Utilizing elite speed and smart playmaking abilities – Aaron has picked up his first offer from Minot State (D2), and although he suffered a wrist injury sometime before their week 6 game, I expect that he will pick up a few more offers before the season is over.
1. Bode Gardner Bode Gardner 6'2" | 180 lbs | WR Mt. Spokane | 2024 State WA WR/DB- Everyone who is familiar with GSL football knows about Bode Gardner Bode Gardner 6'2" | 180 lbs | WR Mt. Spokane | 2024 State WA . Leading the GSL in TD’s, Yards Per Catch, and being an electric defensive player, it’s no surprise that college attention has began to build for Gardner. I’m looking forward to seeing how his recruitment plays out, especially considering the massive senior year he is currently building.
