Continue ReadingrnStam is one of the top linebackers in the state, and checks in just inside our top ten at the position within the 2024 class. He is a big time violent in the box hitter that looks for contact and is a sure tackler in space, while sniffing out plays quickly and is able to get off blocks downhill, or scrape over the top and make plays outside the tackles. Against Saguaro, he went over the 15 tackle mark and added another 1.5 TFL’s, playing against some of the top competition in the state. The First Team All Region linebacker holds offers from ACU, Lake Forest and Fort Lewis, but a FCS school coming to knock on the door would not be the least bit surprising as we near NSD and recruiting boards are shuffling.
Highlights
rnThomas is one of the best Junior corners across the west, and his 2023 campaign is proving he still holds that top spot in our in state rankings. He had two picks over the weekend against corona del sol, and his length, elite cover abilities and ball skills prove to be too much for opposing wide receiver 1’s. He has tremendous hip fluidity in transition, breaks quickly to the ball and offers recovery speed and length if ever beat down the field. Thomas should be a four star by the time it is all said and done as he holds offers from the likes of Oregon, Notre Dame, Wisconsin, ASU, Arizona, Nevada and UNLV among others.
rnSegura had a tremendous night on both sides of the ball for Horizon, and could have been on either stat star list this week. We plugged him into the defensive side as he had 2 sacks, a fumble recovery and was in on what seemed like 10+ tackles from the second level. Offensively, he had over 100 rushing yards and three touchdowns, while running tough and physical for the entire game. Segura is one of the better athletes across the state in this senior class, and has the length and size to be a next level linebacker with plus athleticism.
