Massive junior OL/DL Malakia Thaxton Malakia Thaxton 6'4" | 290 lbs | DL St. Joe Central | 2025 State MO (6’4″ 315) showed a lot of promise on both sides of the ball for the Indians, but primarily seemed to work mostly at NG/DT. He has good explosion off the ball and got good push, while displaying good quickness for his size.
Another two-way starter was senior TE/LB Brock Williamson who made his presence felt on both offense and defense. Brock was Central’s most reliable receiver on the night and did a good job finding space in the Patriots defense to be a target for the Indians QB to find and hit. Defensively he is also their most active playmaker against the run, and brings the ball skills he possesses as a receiver to that side in coverage.
Central’s senior QB Caleb Agular (5’9″ 165) is a very good leader who showed toughness and grit throughout the game. He ran the ball well either by design or on forced scrambles and did not shy away from contact. He also made some nice throws and did a good job down the stretch to give his team the victory.
TRUMAN
The massive (6’6″ 340) senior NG/DT Giovanni Patton was very active both against the run and with his pressure in the backfield and on the quarterback. Giovanni is a good athlete at his size and is quick and strong utilizing both to beat opposing offensive linemen and disrupt the run and get to the QB.
The speedy senior Michael Larry ran hard and showed glimpses of his quickness and speed against a stingy Indians defense. Larry is very good in space and when he can turn the corner is a threat to take it to the house and score.
Another talented defender for Truman was the powerful Freddie Shepard (5’10″230) who patrols the middle and arrives in a hurry with big hits from his defensive position. Freddie runs downhill and lowers the boom on opponents. He was part of the reason the game was a low scoring one from the usually potent Central offense.
