One of the highest debuting players, Kearney’s Turner Bertrand Turner Bertrand 6’7″ | 260 lbs | OL Kearney | 2025 State NE has had a statement junior season. Turner has emerged as a bookend tackle on the offensive line for a solid Bearcat offense. At 6’7″ and 250 lbs, Bertrand possesses next-level size and length and backs it up with great athleticism. Playing tackle, Turner has lined up against some of the top DL/EDGE defenders in Class A and has more than held his own. After watching a few Kearney games, the thing that stands out the most is Turner’s mobility. He has great footwork and moves laterally very well. Turner is also quick to get up to the second level to clear out defenders. Great initial punch with solid upper body strength. Looking forward to seeing more from Turner.
Boys Town’s Marqas Gray Marqas Gray 6’7″ | 220 lbs | TE Boys Town | 2025 State NE is a sleeper to have a “blow up” offseason after a solid junior year. Gray ended the season with 19 receptions for 335 yards and 5 yards while averaging a solid 17.5 yards per reception. Some of Gray’s most impressive plays came in the redzone where he used his 6’7″ frame to win jump balls and possesses the strength to hold on to the ball through contact. Marqas has automatic hands and displays great concentration through the catch process. There is still some rawness to Marqas’ game but the talent and potential are there to be a star. The budding Boys Town star has already caught the attention of the Huskers and enjoyed a gameday visit earlier this month.
Highlights
One of many breakout juniors for the Titans. Free safety Keith Hamby Keith Hamby 6’1″ | 180 lbs | DB Papillion-La Vista South | 2025 State NE has had a great year so far with 60 tackles, 2 TFLs, a sack, 3 interceptions, an INT return for a touchdown, and a forced fumble. Keith flashes an impressive mix of range, ball skills, and instincts. He breaks on the ball very well and has the range to get to his spot quickly. Keith is also quick to trigger downhill and help stuff the run game— very willing tackler. At 6’1″ and 180 pounds, Keith has good size for his position and looks like he could still continue to bulk up his frame. Lots to like about this rangy safety!
Bennington’s Hudson Neuverth Hudson Neuverth 6’4″ | 235 lbs | TE Bennington | 2025 State NE is another tight end with a ton of potential. Hudson’s skillset as a pass-catcher really caught my eye. Neuverth moves very well for his size and runs solid routes. He does a great job slipping into the empty pockets of the defense to create windows for his QB. In an offense with several playmakers, Hudson didn’t receive a ton of touches, but his size and strong hands make him a reliable target on short-distance downs and redzone opportunities. I’ll have to go in and watch more tape to see more of Hudson’s blocking, but overall a great prospect with next-level TE/Flex Te potential.
Junior Camden Walker Camden Walker 6’4″ | 190 lbs | WR Grand Island Northwest | 2025 State NE and teammate Chase Wiegert Chase Wiegert 5’10” | 165 lbs | WR Grand Island Northwest | 2024 State NE combined to form one of the top-receiving duos in Class B. As a junior Walker hauled in 41 receptions for 439 yards and 5 touchdowns and provided the Vikings with a big-bodied, physical receiver. He’s a monster as an outside receiver who can catch fades and win jump balls with ease. Walker’s 6’5 frame and top-tier athleticism help him play above the rim and make him a tough player to match up against. On top of his size, Camden is also a great route runner with very quick feet and the ability to create separation at all levels of the field. Very excited to see how the rest of Camden’s season plays out and how he attacks the offseason.
