While some prospects receive significant recognition and attention from scouts and analysts, there are always a few players who deserve more recognition for their abilities. In this scouting report, we will highlight a few football prospects who have not received the attention they deserve but possess the talent to excel at the next level.
Otto Brewer
Otto Brewer
The one part of Brewer’s game that stands out the most is his power. When the ball is snapped, he does a good job of knocking blockers back. This is due to the tremendous power that he possesses in both his upper and lower body. After knocking the blocker off-balance, he uses his violent hands to move them out of the way. I even saw a few snaps of him throwing offensive linemen to the ground.
The most effective pass rush move that he possesses is the bull rush. He does a good job of getting his hands in the right position to drive blockers back into the pocket. Brewer also does a good job of using his size and strength to draw double teams. Although this often takes him out of play, it allows his teammates to make a stop.
Wilson has excellent vision when running the ball. He sees his blocks and follows them. A team can count on Wilson running the ball to the correct spot, Wilson’s patience is a big piece of his vision, so much so that it may deserve its own highlight as a strength. I’m going to lump them together though. Wilson lets his blocks develop, he gives them time. Being quick to the line of scrimmage sounds like a good thing, however a running back can hurt themselves if they hit the line before their blocks can set up. He is also good at doing this downfield, letting the receivers set up blocks to turn long runs into longer ones.
Highlights
Isaiah Taylor
Isaiah Taylor
Taylor does a very good of constantly using his hands throughout his pass rush. When engaging in contact, he does a good job keeping his hands high and tight on the opposing offensive lineman’s breastplate. This allows him to force the lineman back, applying pressure on the QB. Taylor is also good at knocking away the offensive lineman’s hands, consistently giving him leverage throughout his rush. When Taylor needs to disengage a block, he has violent hands and upper body strength to move blockers out of the way. This allows him to cover a gap in run defense or pressure the QB on pass plays.
The aspect of his game that stands out to me the most is his high motor. Regardless of where he is lined up on the field, he does a good job of making his presence felt. I am most impressed when he is lined up deep as a free safety. When lined up this deep, the opposing quarterback rarely looks in his direction. This is because he does a good job of making a play on the ball when the ball is in the air for a long time. Goodwin is a baller!
Jason Todd
Jason Todd
Jason Todd is one of the best athletes in the class of 2026. He has very good lateral agility and elusiveness that allows him to make defenders miss in open and tight areas. Todd also has very low center of gravity that helps him maintain his balance through contact and quickly change directions. His quickness is also very impressive because he can easily punish the opposing defense if they give him any space.
