His acceleration allows him to get up to full speed in no time. He also displays excellent footwork. Because of this he doesn't need a ton a space to slow down and speed back up. He's able to plant his foot into the ground and make sharp, sudden cuts. Darden also has a huge bag of tricks that he's able to use. Even when running the same route on back-to-back plays, he'll vary the way he attacks the route and defensive back. I feel like an issue a lot of quicker, more explosive running backs run into is changing direction. Sure, they get up to speed quickly, but it's straight line speed. Ezell on the other hand was adapt at being able to stop, change direction, and get back up to speed in small, tight areas. I believe that his patience is a big part of his success. He doesn't just go full throttle from the beginning. He typically waits for the hole to open up before hitting it at full speed. By being patient in the backfield, he allows his line to properly execute blocks and open up a lane. When he finds a lane, he shows good awareness of where defenders are around him so he can keep the play alive. If a lane does not open up for him or he is under pressure in the backfield, Tarver shows that he can get creative. Once he finds a lane, he shows off his burst by quickly accelerating to his top speed. Foreman is also very light on his feet which allows him to elude defenders in congested areas and in the open field. His quick feet also allow him to change direction on a dime. If he is not able to elude a defender, he will not hesitate to drop his shoulder and fight for a few extra yards.rnrnForeman also shows off his athleticism in the passing game. His quickness allows him to quickly stem his route outside of the hashes.
