Oregon 5A Mid Season All State Defense- 1st & 2nd Team

The Oregon 5A mid-season all state team is structured to highlight those individuals who have had all state type seasons thus far. It is NOT a list with just the top recruits and strength of schedule is factored in.    Please note that this is not an all-conference breakdown, so it will be much more difficult to make this team when incorporating the entire state. Check it..     *Credit to PRZ's Connor Darby who contributed to this list and has done an outstanding job with his 5A coverage in Oregon         DEFENSIVE SUMMARY:       The Dallas Dragons return one of the more experienced teams they've ever had, finishing in the top 10 the last four seasons. William Walker and [player_tooltip player_id='738893' first='Steven' last='Ward'] are both listed among the 5A stat leaders within the state.    [player_tooltip player_id='738891' first='Xavier' last='Orozco'] returns after earning Mid-Willamette Conference Defensive Lineman of the year honors . The Foxes are a legit 5A title contender, currently sitting at 6-0. Senior [player_tooltip player_id='291229' first='Sam' last='Keen'] is probably 5A's top two-way line threat, projecting on O while using his overall athleticism on D. [player_tooltip player_id='1095883' first='Isaac' last='Olmeda'] is one of the best players to come out of Redmond in the last few years.   Two underclassmen you will hear a lot about in the coming years are 2026 standout [player_tooltip player_id='402392' first='Asante' last='Mims'] who started as a freshman and has a chance to be one of the top DE/OLB's to ever come out of Hillsboro HS. [player_tooltip player_id='754595' first='Ceville' last='Pasi'] earned 1st team all-league honors as a sophomore and has shown off his overall athleticism running the ball, averaging close to 8 yards per carry with double digit TDs.    Returning Mid-Willamette Conference POY in football and basketball [player_tooltip player_id='260100' first='Brysen' last='Kachel'] is a D1 kid at some level and the most slept on athlete in Oregon in my opinion. 3*[player_tooltip player_id='442249' first='Hayden' last='George'] already has multiple D1 offers and has been excelling defensively as well.    Top ranked Wilsonville has a pair of underclass LB standouts in [player_tooltip player_id='511864' first='Mark' last='Wiepert'] and [player_tooltip player_id='406775' first='William' last='Ingle']. We talked on Wiepert who has the potential of being a POY on both sides of the ball. Ingle made the move over from West Linn where he's had a phenomenal year, being listed in the top five in tackles at the 5A level.    [player_tooltip player_id='1098241' first='Joel' last='Sanchez'] has been the defensive leader of a McKay team that has overachieved all year being ranked in the top 10. The Canby Cougars also have a solid duo in senior leader [player_tooltip player_id='207256' first='Tyler' last='Konold'] who is an offensive POY favorite, and freaky 6-5 freshman [player_tooltip player_id='1095838' first='Jack' last='Brauckmiller'], who could be Oregon's top ranked 2027.   [player_tooltip player_id='278432' first='Sam' last='Stephens'] is one of the state's top RB's and overall two-way players. He's had an outstanding year on D. Junior Owen Thomas of Bend currently leads the state in INTs.    1st team all-conference returner [player_tooltip player_id='153309' first='Jackson' last='L Babbitt'] is back after an outstanding junior season. He will need to lead if the Millers want to have a chance in the playoffs.
