With 69 tackles and 9 sacks, Joseph is a strong pass rusher that can line up inside or out. Joseph has been relentless off the edge in his pursuit of the quarterback. With an impressive use of his hands, he is able to shed blockers away from him and get to the runner. He has also been extremely valuable in coverage, as he has one interception on the season. Look for Joseph to have a big defensive performance in this semifinal game.
An absolute monster from the linebacker position, Nick Kurilko Nick Kurilko 6’1″ | LB Newton | 2026 NJ has been taking ball carriers down at an extremely high rate this season. With 94 tackles and 4 sacks to go with it, the Newton product is found wherever the ball is. He has the ability to close in on runners quickly and is a shut down run stopper up the middle. When pass rushing, Nick has made a big impact by forcing the QB out of the pocket and wrapping him up before he gets very far. The sophomore LB has also been excellent in coverage, as he has 1 interception on the season as well.
A starter on both sides of the ball, here we will emphasize Dennis Delaney Dennis Delaney 6’0″ | 215 lbs | OL Old Tappan | 2024 NJ when he is on the defensive side of the line of scrimmage. With 10 sacks and 88 tackles this year, Dennis has been unstoppable in the pass rush. He has a fast swim move and can disrupt the pocket quickly, making it difficult for the opposing QB to have clean throwing lanes. He has also played a big part in run contain, as he rarely lets runners bounce it to the outside. Old Tappan has a stud in this defensive end.
Ramapo has one of the most talented teams in North 1, and a lot of their success can be attributed to Zach Schnorrbusch. With 5 interceptions on the season, it has been extremely difficult for opposing QBs to have any success throwing his direction. He has quick play recognition, and swipes the receivers hands down to force the incompletion. With 1 FF and an interception returned for a touchdown, Zach has the potential to make momentum changing plays any time he is on the field.
Cashmere Jones Cashmere Jones 5’7″ | 145 lbs | ATH Passaic Tech | 2024 State NJ is a player I became familiar with over the off season, and has lived up to all of the hype. A talent on both sides of the ball, Cashmere has played exceptionally well in the defensive backfield. Another player that gravitates to wherever the ball is, Cashmere has 68 tackles on the season and 5 interceptions to go with it. He also returned one of those picks for 6. Cashmere is one of the fastest players on the field, and is able to close in on runners and receivers very quickly. He is sure to have a big game this weekend.
