Although this is publishing later than we wanted, you will want to meet the 8 prospects that rose to the occasion between the Fighting Saints and the undefeated Jaguars.
Jared Cortez, ATH, Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg (2024) Twitter
Jared was a 2024 prospect that I thought showed good bases of his efficiency on all three levels of the field. I was impressed with his consistency with his punts especially with the hangtime he achieved and the distance was pretty level from his first punt to his last. At defensive back, Jared showed off a prospect with his size in the secondary, a badgering motor to the ball as again this was another consistent skillset he showed off.
Luke Illies Luke Illies 6'5" | 175 lbs | WR Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa | 2025 MN , WR, Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa (2025) Twitter
One of the biggest pass-catchers we saw from either team on Wednesday night was 6’5 175 junior wide receiver Luke Illies Luke Illies 6'5" | 175 lbs | WR Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa | 2025 MN . Luke showed off some well-versed hands that I can tell are developing from his sophomore season to his junior season, as he showed much a more athletic nature when going thru his rotations and I still believe there is even more development coming with one year left of varsity football. He also did a great job in some tight windows making the higher traffic catches which shows off his strength he has developed in his upper body. Even though he has some frame to add on, I thought Luke showed off to be more durable getting contact yards than I would have expected by just looking at his measurables. He certainly is a 2025 outstate Minnesota wide receiver with a high roof of upside in my eyes.
Carter Auspos, ATH/LB, Kerkoven-Murdock-Sunburg (2024) Twitter
After watching the first half, Carter showed off plenty of instinctive presence when the ball was in his hands, as you can tell Carter has a solidly built football IQ and I also thought he brought the senior leadership to drive the Fighting Saints into getting early momentum at the start of the second half as well. Carter also plays with excellent stamina, and finishes his runs with excellent pull-away speed as a 5’11 195 pound that plays with a longer lower body than his measurables show off. Carter also shows off catchy vision as a middle linebacker, and one that has the versatile skillsets to find the best avenue to attack the ball carrier in stride with the contact level you look for at that position. Carter also checks some boxes with his athletic mobility, as I am quite shook this young man is still looking for his first college football offer as this kid is a stud of a two-way player for KMS.
Jack Lundberg, RB/LB, Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa (2025)
There was just some athletically that turned into my eyes the second I saw BBE junior running back Jack Lundberg on the edges of the field. I saw his agility and instinct turn up a new level, as a prospect in my eyes loves to show off his change of direction he has. Jack also showed off strong bases of fluidity with his burst when he got into the open field, as a 2025 running back prospect that I felt was well-rounded running back despite being undersized with the BBE Jaguars rushing attack. No tape, yet but I am calling Jack an early hidden gem you D-III or NAIA coaches will want to get a look at.
Jett Olson Jett Olson 5'10" | 180 lbs | ATH Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg | 2025 State MN , RB/LB, Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg (2025) Twitter
Jett was the workhorse that woke up the Fighting Saints in the second half with his pure athleticism he showed off in that half particularly. At tailback, I liked Jett’s vision as I thought he saw the field short and focused on how he could maneuver thru contact with his agility and strength instead of just breaking to the edge getting several hard-earned rushing yards in this game. It didn’t matter what side of the ball Jett lined up on, this kid played with the most physicality I saw from either squad as a two-way player. Whether it was lowering his shoulder with his stiff arm or making a hard-hitting tackle around the edges of the field, this young man certainly played with a chip on his shoulder as a junior leader of the Fighting Saints. With a wrestling background, too Jett certainly passed the eye test as a Division II or FCS prospect as a junior in my eyes.
Luke Dingmann, QB/DB, Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa (2024) Twitter
At 6’4 210 pounds, Luke was quite impressive for that size with his athletic mobility in my eyes, as he consistently showed sound determination while working outside of the pocket. He also showed off plenty of instinct with the ball in his hands on the run, as his decision-making with his legs carried a poise that was well established with a football IQ of knowing exactly where he had to go to be successful getting his yards. Luke also showed off a promising touch throwing ability on short and intermediate routes, and I was highly impressed with his timing and placement of those touch throws with his screen passes he made, as he made it look routine, and on a few occasions that opened up big gains for his running backs. Luke is undecided if he wants to pursue basketball or football, however I certainly could see him with his sound and mobile decision-making he made on Wednesday, becoming a WR/TE hybrid at the next level would be my projection
Carson Gilbert, EDGE, Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa (2025)
By far my favorite defensive line prospect from either squad on Wednesday night, we meet a new name from Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa in defensive end Carson Gilbert.Carson played with big-play physicality and a motor that was by far the best in the trenches from either roster on Wednesday night. He also showed off intriguing dexterity with the swim moves and other moves he made to get free downhill to the ball carrier. He also showed off reactive athleticism off the snap, as he got a key pass break up towards the end of the game which really set up the growing momentum the Jaguars had continuously throughout the game.
Toby Cebulla, DB, Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa (2024) Twitter
One of the biggest ball-hawks of this game on Wednesday night was BBE 2024 defensive back Toby Cebulla who might I add is still uncommitted. Toby logged a game-high in tackles and was also highly proficient with his ball-tracking ability in pass-coverage as he showed a fluid twitch consistently all game long playing from sideline to sideline. All night long I thought Toby played with a significant chip on his shoulder, as Toby played with aggressive physicality with a constant nose for the ball with his versatile presence in run and pass coverage. A 2024 defensive back prospect with light Division III interest and one that is another hidden gem from this game for playing on Saturdays.
